We took our 6 & 10 year old for the ride. They loved it. The people that work there were very helpful and took extra care with the kids who were basically first time riders. The ride was hot, but you see lots of plant life and towards the end, on the mountain, there is a great view. We had a groupon, so that made the experience even better!
the white tank stable staff were all very friendly and the ride was very scenic....the horses were well trained....tour guide very informative about desert plants...
My husband and I had a wonderful experience. Debbie was a terrific guide: she was very knowledgeable about the desert landscape and was very entertaining as well. This is not a super-fancy operation but they have all the safety features like a mounting block and they really treat the horses well. Right after our ride we walked the horses over to the water trough and Debbie showed us a little toy frog the horses like to play with in the water. She also gave us treats to feed our horses. Bathroom is a port-o-potty. We ended up going into the nature center/library right next to the stables and used the facilities there. We took a few minutes going through the nature center as well. I would highly recommend for out of town guests.
take your out of town friends here for desert beauty and a great horseback riding experience! open October thru May then they go north to Flagstaff....the state park next to it is also beautiful, that costs $6.00 to get in....don't miss this place!
Hiking in the White tank Mountain Park is great and a horse back ride with this riding stabletops it off. The guides are thoughtful about choosing the right horse for the rider. I would recommend this ride to anyone traveling to this area.
If you wish to witness animal abuse, check out this terrible operation. Reporting them to the SPCA! This operation should be shut down. How Trip Advisor could even list them is disgusting to me. Horses aren't watered between rides. Horses are not rested. No shelter for the horses. Basically is horses tied to a hitching post in the middle of the desert with no care taken with the animals. Horses are not brushed or fed properly. Abuse is the best description for this outfit.
Debbie and Mike were awesome! Great trail ride with an amazing guide! Horses were gentle and super easy to ride! Would definitely go back and highly recommend this place! Thank you!!
This place is so beautiful! The horses are great the staff was amazing! The guide was very knowledgeable of the area. It was just overall a wonderful experience! I will definitely go back again and recommend this place to anyone!
My kids (9 and 11) and I enjoyed a wonderful one-hour ride with our guide, Travis. The horses were beautiful, as was the scenery. Recommend to all ages!
Friendly & knowledgeable staff helped our family of 4 (2 boys, 10 & 13) chose ability-appropriate, mount & walk gentle & well trained horses. The scenery is beautiful, and the young man who led our group of 8 people was fun & shared info about the area. The bathroom is an outhouse, so be prepared :)
From now on, I'm taking all my visitors out here to Surprise Arizona to the White Tanks Riding Stables. My nephew is 7 years old and we weren't sure if he'd be big enough to ride on his own, our guide was phenomenal and they were able to taylor a ride for us that was fun and relaxing and perfect for my nephew as well. These blokes were absolutely wonderful. If you're visiting Phoenix, this is a southwest must!
Short, relaxing ride, nice scenery. Great fun for kids. Very pleasant people. Thanks Jeff. Would recommend to anybody.
Thank you Jeff for supplying the best trail horses. Scott thank you for your friendly and informative guide. My sister in law from Indiana and I really enjoyed our beautiful ride in the desert. Calm relaxing, and fun. Breath taking views prove it. I would recommend for all ages. Wish you wre here longer. Hate to see you go in April. Thank you again, Karen Hetrick
My assumed cousin, Jeff, was welcoming and professional. Relaxing and beautiful ride with great horses. Our guide, Scott, was full of information about the wildlife and landscape. Also, he had that cowboy politeness about him that embodied the western feel.
My fiance and I stumbled upon this great spot while taking a hike in White Tank to see the Petroglyphs on a annual visit to see family in AZ. We were delighted to learn about a Sunset Horse Back Tour around the mountain. After our hike we stopped in to the quaint little "ranch" with nice looking horses and baby calves, mini ponies, and a funny little baby potbelly named Charlotte. We were enthusiastically greeted by Jeff, who told us he'd accommodate us any way he can so we can have a nice sunset ride and were assured that we'd be happy with any of the horses. We returned 2 days later for our appointment and were greeted again by Jeff and Ryan who were getting our horses ready. We were taken on a sweet relaxing, leisurely ride through the mountain on Hank, and The Undertaker, who couldn't have been more docile and sweet horses. The sunset was breathtaking and Jeff's knowledge of the mountains and funny stories were entertaining. We would highly recommend White Tank Riding Stables to anyone who wants something to do in the area. It's great for couples, friends and families. We will definitely return on our next visit.
