The seats and the drink and food options make this a cut above the rest. Worth going out to the movies.

The seats are very comfortable. Pricing is fair for the seats, although the food and drink prices are on the high side. I like that you can reserve your seat ahead of time.

The newly, renovated seating in all of the theaters is a huge selling point for us and sort of makes it difficult to see movies in other theaters without the fancy reclining seats! It's really a treat to go to the movies. My daughter just loves the seats and begs to bring a small blanket so she can be extra comfy. The downside to the new seating is that you cannot make a last minute decision to go see a movie because the only way to ensure you get a seat for the movie of your choice is to pay in advance. My husband and I tried to see Gone Girl for date night using discounted passes, but because we couldn't use them to reserve seats, even after calling and talking to a live person, we had to go to the AMC in Barrington, because the only two seats available when we checked before leaving were two seats on opposite sides of the theater. Since it was date night, that didn't seem like a good idea!

Yes the chairs are super comfy and recline. However, there are less of them than before and if you want to guarantee to be able to see the show you want at the time you want you have to reserve a seat. Now when you go out with girlfriends at night for example and you start gabbing over dinner you aren't sure which show you might be up for seeing and well then you can't see any as reservations are a must! Another kicker is if you reserve seats online their is a convenience fee which is ridiculous as your only other choice is to go into the theater in the morning to reserve it, crazy. Finally their food prices have sky rocketed! Overall I'm not impressed for the sacrifices of convenience and prices raised for the amenities of these newer chairs.I hope this review helps someone :)

Newly renovated, this theater is really cushy with wide chairs that recline, you pick your seats when you buy your ticket. The sound system was excellent, they didn't have to blast it, you could hear low dialogue and special effects did not hurt your eardrums. And the have early bird specials.

AMC Lake in the Hills has been renovated to include comfy reclining chairs in each theater. Join the AMC club online for a small fee, and choose your seats before you get there to avoid the lines. There is the usual popcorn, candy, pop.....but also has an area for alcohol.

Selected and ordered our assigned seats for the movie ahead of time via the web-site, walk in swipe your credit card and your tickets pop out. Grab some food at the expanded (but typically expensive) concessions counter that in addition to candy and popcorn offers nachos, chicken fingers and pizza or for the adults head over to the full service bar. The theater was impeccably clean and the huge oversize recliners serving as the movie seats are excellent.
