Wear your walking shoes when you come to Woodman's. It is the largest grocery store, employee owned, that I have ever been to. There is a full service liquor store on the premises. The produce section is huge with conventional and organic produce. After that, fill your cart with enormous variety in food, household items, and, at least, 2 long aisles for organic choices, including frozen food. The selection and service is great, friendly cashiers, and just about anything one would want from a grocery store. Prices are lower here as attested to by the crowd of happy shoppers in the aisles.
Woodman's has a complete line of anything you would want from a large grocery store. The variety can be overwhelming, but it's great if you want to see many products from different companies. The prices are very reasonable.
Woodman's is the only place I food shop. They have a huge selection of everything and the best prices around. Shelves are always well stocked. Staff is friendly and helpful. And they have a large "adult beverage" section also with a large selection and good prices.
This is a huge grocery store. If you want to find ice cream, be prepared to choose from a huge selection.Same goes for many items you want to buy. If you can't find it here, it is unlikely you can find it anywhere except for ethnic foods.
I call their liqour department my "happy place" b/c they always have so much to choose from. i love that I can buy single bottles of beer or wine coolers so I can make my own 6 or 12 pack. I love to try new things so this option gives me that choice. The grocery store has so many choices I love it. My only complaint is that they often times don't have enough people doing check out and I hate waiting in line.
This is a fun place to shop! If you can't find it here, I doubt you'll find it anywhere! My daughter wanted me to see their big selection of creamed herring. Well, maybe not everyone is fond of that, but this is one HUGE grocery! Clean, prices are good, help was available and friendly. On top of that: it's employee owned. Wish we had one in Michigan!
It's very large, so be prepared to do some walking. Your first visit will take a while. Also, they do not accept credit cards, only cash, check or debit cards. Check out their international aisles. We shop here regularly, so we tend to go directly to the areas we know we need, but it pays to leave yourself some extra exploring time occasionally to see what you can find. They carry some great gluten free baked goods, and a wide variety of organics. Because they buy in bulk, it pays to check the dates on anything you buy here, and I never buy items like potatoes because they don't seem to know how to store them properly.
We are near the headquarters for Aldi's U.S. Headquarters, so we have lots of Aldi's around. But Woodman's prices are just a low as Aldi and this is a huge store--they have everything. The only thing you have to watch is since they are so huge, they do have some expired items that are waiting to be cycled. So for the low prices, you do have to pay attention to what you select--but don't take this as all their stuff is old, I'm just saying on rare occasions, you do have to watch what you selected.
