It's a neat looking monument! I liked the brick road going to this. It's a very quick stop, but worth taking the time to see.

While sightseeing in Alton came upon this impressive monument to Elijah Lovejoy who was a important figure in the anti'slavery movement in the 1800s. Very hard to miss as it towers over the rest of the cemetery!!
