沙滩白得像面粉。人不少但不喧闹,刚好互相保持舒适的距离。环境保护得很好,人与鸟与海都很和谐相处,服务设施周全但不商业化,真是喜欢

Birds the book says, WRONG again, no shore birds at all. The Bald Eagle and 2 chicks were the highlight of the day. Many nesting, and feeding Ospreys, and a few woodpeckers, that was it. Again you notice no one reviewer mentions birds.. I know there aren't any, but there is supposed to be.So the moral of the story, is, if it is a park, then there are no birds, only people. You cant have both.

What a nice beach. Little rocky on the north side before you get to the sandy part of the water. Take some surf shoes for that side of the beach. Over all quite and relaxing.

This beach is one of my favorites. The natural beauty of an undeveloped island is stunning! Waves, shells and wildlife abound on this piece of paradise. Wildflowers, cactus and occasional armadillo can be seen during your sandy walks. Worth the price of admission!!

We first started visiting in June of '14, loved it, favorite beach. Then these past few times there have been too many rocks. Our last visit last weekend was very uncomfortable. Small patches of sand without rocks then the first couple feet into the water full of rocks, need water shoes. Not sure why the abundancee of rocks? Will continue to visit since we have a yearly pass.

We did some driving around, and quite a bit a hiking the beach until sundown. The beach is not a nice as those in Clearwater, but far less crowded, so we found some really nice sea shells. There are wooden benches here and there. Out near the point, there are wooden bench swings which make a perfect place to watch the sunset. Be advised that the park closes just after sunset. There is an $8 fee to get in

We heard great things about Honeymoon Island so we paid the 8.00 entrance fee, parked, and within 2 minutes of walking outside, our family of 4 was covered in biting bugs. They were crawling all over me, my glasses, my phone, my cup and were all in my hair and car too. Everyone was running into a store and trying to get them off. The windows in the store were covered in the bugs as well. We decided to run back to our car and leave the park. We were being bit all the way home and still for an hour after we got back home. They kept turning up in my car and in my purse even. I don't recommend going there unless you are covered in bug spray which they did sell in the store. I've been to several beaches this week all over Clearwater and Captiva and Sanibel island and haven't seen any of the bugs like they had there.

Packed for this time of year but the weather is unbeatable ... Beautiful sunshine and clear waters with a cool breeze ... The perfect setting to welcome spring after a mean winter ...just breathtaking ... Put this in your bucket list when in the area ... If you are from the northern states and want to thaw out this would be the perfect spot ... Something out of a magazine

We moved to Tampa 2 years ago and used to frequent this beach since it's just 20 minutes from our house. The last few visits have not been enjoyable because of rocks and sand fleas. We just tried one more time today (March 2015) and had a bad day. The weather was perfect but the beach had tons of sand fleas (or some small jumpy biting bug) that made our stay miserable. The beach is very tiny now, only one family can set up a spot by the time high tide comes in the afternoon, we got shoved out by the rising tide (we ran out of sand). And the rocks!!! I have been to this beach many times over the past 2 years. The rocks wax and wane but I've never seen it this bad. You could not walk the beach without aqua shoes. Do yourself a favor and buy a pair before coming here.

The causeway out to the island, and then the Osprey hiking trail are wonderful spots for birding. Many different shore birds are common on the causeway and the trail through the woods affords great looks at Osprey, usually Great Horned Owl and Eagle and a variety of other woodland birds. Eagles and Owls were nesting when we were there.

Great beaches for finding shells and not as crowded as Clearwater Beach and very family friendly. Food is available....a bit pricey, but there are some options for kids. Beach chairs and unbrellas are also available to rent for the day. There are also nature trails for hiking. This is a state part so the entrance fee is $8/car with a limit of 8 people....$2 per person if there are more than 8. Also, bikes and kayaks are also available to rent.

Love the island very easy to navigate and loved the Osprey trail. Seen about 25 nesting Sea Hawks(Osprey), Eagles, Armadillo, Gopher Tortoise, Paint Turtle. The trails are level and easy to get around. Will try to go back.

So close to the city, yet once you arrive, it's like you secluded miles from anything or anyone! Nice quaint cafe serving yummy food with a flair of nostalgia of beach going days when I was a child. Love this place year round!

Being from the West, I love visiting eastern beaches. The water is clear greenish blue and the side is as white as can be. On our visit to Honeymoon Island, we strolled the beach and looked for shells (which ere in abundance). This is a beautiful, peaceful location to lounge in the sun.

We paid our $8.00 admission fee and went to the beach at the furtest end of the park. We started walking the beach and wondered if we were at a beach or a rock quarry. It was impossible to walk near the waters edge because there was no sand, just big rocks and stones. We walked the parking lot to get more to the south end of the beach where the rocks disappeared. This was near the dog beach. It was absolutely gorgeous. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, stay near the dog beach. It's really nice. There is also the Osprey a Trail that you can walk in the forested area of the park. You will see nesting Eagles, Ospreys, and we even almost tripped over a Rattle Snake crossing the trail. Although you'll be wanting to look up at all of the nests, watch out for the snakes. I hate snakes and this one scared the devil out of us. The park is great and well worth the entrance fee.
