The park is a great place to go for the beach and wildlife. What a relief from the hustle and bustle of Thomas dr.

we stayed at an rv resort right by the state park and took several walks around the park ($2 per person for walking or biking) as well as took our dogs in several times. My husband drove his car/kayak in ($4) and did some fishing. They have great beach access but dogs are not allowed at all on the beaches in florida so leave Fido at home. There are also multi rv sites for rent both on the beach rocky area as well as inland but they stay pretty busy so make sure you have reservations.

After spending about five months here this winter, I can say without hesitation that St. Andrews State Park is my favorite beach, attraction, way to spend a day. This winter has been fairly chilly and stormy and there is no better beach from which to watch the waves, surfers, windsurfers, and people in general. The beaches are clean and uncrowded. A couple of times I saw more deer than people! Gator Lake is a beautiful area with a great walking path. Although I never did see a gator, I saw the birds (heron, egret, and others) here that I did not see elsewhere along this stretch of the coast. I had spent other winters in Dunedin, FL, and miss the many birds we had there. There is an entrance fee which can be paid per visit or with an annual pass good at all Florida state parks.I have to mention the young man at the entrance station - - he is a sweetheart. Very knowledgeable and always has a smile.

St. Andrew's State park is a great destination for locals and tourists, alike. The jetties and pier offer great fishing opportunities. A large tide pool is shallow and calm, perfect for the kids. There's a boat ramp and hiking trails, plus wildlife viewing areas. For history buffs, the turpentine still includes plaques and old equipment that date back before the civil war. The best part is the beach's sugar-white sand. You will love this park.

What a great park! My son and I went swimming and fishing our first day, then hiking and swimming again the next day. It was a great place to swim and have some shade to eat our lunch under the pavilion. We make frequent trips (sometimes even day trips!) from Atlanta, and this is always were we visit first!

This is a great small park located on a beautiful beach. You can sit on the rocks and watch the boats entering St Andrew Bay from the Gulf...or you can walk the sugar sands as far as you like. Very scenic, easy to reach.

Including Shell Island the Beach is the worlds finest white sand. Californias beaches arent even close.

Certain things prevent me from giving 5 stars, From Pensacola to Panama City Beach, Florida; tourism has taken a backseat to safety. Nice place to visit, unless you are local. Locals in PCB love taking care of our tourists, but the safety of these people is unknown, but the working locals aren't so sure. Money and influence change people...!?/&!/ see you 2015.

SASP is a beautiful 1,200 acre park operated by the Florida Park Service, located at the far eastern tip of the Panama City Beach peninsula. It offers 1.5 miles of white sand beach on the Gulf of Mexico, nature trails, a boat ramp, historic site, wildlife viewing, picnic areas, playgrounds, 2 fishing piers and a campground with 176 sites (which can accommodate everything from tents to 45 ft. RV's). Swimming, fishing, snorkeling and boating are just a few of the activities you can spend the day enjoying. From March to November a concessionaire has stores where you can purchase supplies, snacks and souvenirs. Also from Mar. to Nov. a shuttle boat operates (separate fee) which can take you across the pass to another part of the park called Shell Island, you can rent a kayak or bicycle as well. There is an daily entry fee to get into the park or you can purchase an annual pass good at all the Florida State Parks.
