A small class, only about 6 people. The instructor's name was Steve. He was knowledgeable about the subject and presented the material in an interesting manner. Talked about Florida law and then a lot of real world scenarios for the application of the law. The whole class was thought provoking. The class was in the Clearwater facility which is a new shooting store and indoor range with dedicated classroom facilities.I enjoyed the whole experience.
I have just had the "tacticool" day out at FFA. What a brilliant way to spend a days holiday. Chris our instructor was very good with us first timers and was spot on with how he explained the types of guns and the safe use of them. This was a surprise for my birthday and it is one of the best gifts I have had in a very long time. I have always wanted to have a go with real guns so this was the best way to start. You get your introduction to gun safety in an Easy to understand way then you get your demonstration on the guns then you get to fire them one at a time. Chris showed us how to load the magazines safely and how to check they were loaded properly so if you ever go elsewhere then at least you know the safe procedures. My son is already planning his visit again next October and I may just be coming along with him if we are back in Florida ( which is looking like a strong possibility). Thanks Chris we will hopefully see you next year.
We drove down from Orlando and had a memorable and fun experience! There were just two other guys and us three (3 generations!) on the range that day.It was a hot day, but we were in the shade most of the time and they had big fans going..Chris, our instructor, was patient, positive and enthusiastic while tutoring 5 europeans with various degrees of experience. :)We payed USD 15 for lunch (baguettes, water and soft drinks). As norwegians, getting to try out various firearms is not that easy, so coming here was indeed great fun.We will definitively come back the next time we are in Florida!
This our 2nd trip in 2 years with these guys. Jim does a great job instructing. He could spend some time explaining WHY he's asking you to do some stuff (or I could have asked more questions), but he's a great personality, professional and a straight shooter (pun intended). Extremely knowledgeable, super safety conscious and well versed in all the weapons we shot. I especially liked the larger variety this time over our first experience. As of this writing, his Web site says that lunch is available, but that recently changed and he hasn't updated his site yet. So, bring a lunch, water and your sense of adventure. You will have a great time learning about a host of weapons, tactics, handling and overall defensive training. Not your average 'gun shoot'...if (when) we return to Florida...we are looking him and his team up again.
Just want to start off by saying a huge thank you to Jim and Craig for a fantastic day. My Wife and I attended the fire arm course today. I say course not gun range because there is so much more to this than a standard gun range. You know the one, where you receive a 30 second demonstration and are told to go to a lane and let loose. This is a professional and safe course which provides full training on all types of guns. The location of FFA is about 1 hr from I drive and your sat nav will lead you straight to their door. On arrival you will meet Jim and Craig who will ask you to fill out a few forms and then explain exactly what will happen throughout the day. After that you will then be taken to another area where you will be shown in great detail how to safely hold and operate each gun under the secure watch of either Jim or Craig. The whole time we were there we felt safe and in the hands of true experts who's number one priority was the safety of all of the people on site. I'm 6 foot 4 and my wife is 5 foot 2. She only agreed to do the course because she knew i really wanted to do it. All week she was terrified at the thought of shooting big guns such as AR15's, AK47's,12 gauge shot gun's and bolt action sniper rifles but she absolutely loved it!! She enjoyed it more than i did and it pains me to admit she was a better shot than me. There is a nice fan under the tents that help keep you cool in the hot Florida sun and cold drinks are provided. I would recommend you bring sun cream and bug spray.I have no doubt that when i return to Florida I will never visit a standard Gun range again. I will be booking an appointment with florida firearms adventures. Having said that don't take my word for it!! Get down there!! Men, women and children are all welcome. We had a brilliant day. Top marks to Jim and all the crew.

This place is excellent - the instructors are good and have a great attitude. If want to fire weapons when on holiday this is the place to go, it is a safe well run site with a good range of activities and weapons.
Went here on 8th Oct 2013.....although we had difficulty finding the venue, a couple of trips up and down G Smith Rd, had us finding the tiny sign.... Better signage please fellas!!!!However, upon arrival were met by Craig, nice friendly chap, who informed us we were the only 3 booked in for that day..... Had great fun, both Craig and Bob, friendly, helpful and extremely good at what they do....even helped me with a grip issue I have, overall, very very impressed......just love the AR15.......Well worth the $125pp!!!!
'I must shoot a gun once in my life', thats what I thought during our roadtrip through Florida. We are from Holland and fyi it is illegal to have any kind of gun or whatsoever unless you have permission from the government to shoot at a shooting range. Rules are very strict in that case.So up we went to Jim and Craig! They are so passioned when talking about guns. It is all about safety and having fun! And fun it was! We tried several kind of guns, try to hit the target. Well.... I did pretty good.... I think. The sniper gun at the end of the day was my absolute favorite! What a blast! Thanks Jim and Craig for the oportunity and the awesome day!
This was a must do experience. Craig and Jim had all of us learning how to safely and efficiently fire all sorts of guns from AR15s to Glocks. I brought my husband and two boys 11 and 13 for this amazing day. Needless to say, it was the highlight of the trip! We were able to compete against each other with accuracy. It was amazing to see how well our children did - and you will do too! I am positive they could teach anyone how to handle a gun properly. This is a must do activity! Give it a try - I know you will be amazed. Again - we can't wait to visit again in 2015!
I have been to a few gun ranges in Florida but this is a big step forward in terms of the guns you get to shoot and the training provided. Not only did we get to shot a .22 scoped rifle, AR15, AK47, (both with red dot sights) Remington 12 gauge , single action revolver, Glock17 and Sniper rifle.but we were shown the correct ways to handle each gun and the correct stance and grip. The instructors interchanged the calibers on certain guns so you could perfect your technique and forget about recoil and once you had it correct they loaded the correct caliber. I started the day holding the guns and rifles like every James Bond film I had ever seen and left knowing more about the guns and the way to fire them than I could have wished for. Don't get me wrong this was a fun day and the guys were great fun but you learn a lot and we both came away with technique's we can practice. Jim the owner has a lot of plans to expand the facilities and was planning a long range course for sniper rifles were you get to don a guilly suit which sounds fun so We will defiantly book again when we come back.
If like us you are tourists visiting Florida for Disney, Universal etc and want to experience a day of shooting then you must choose this Run by Jim and Craig, two hugely experienced professionals, the 'Tactical Experience' day provides an experience that you simply do not get anywhere else:- A wide range of guns to experience, allowing your children (and adults of course) to experience the 'Call of Duty' experience for real, shooting all different types of calibers at different types of targets, - Expert tuition, great facilities, food & refreshments, - and above all thorough safety and security at all times - Set outdoors in beautiful countryside, not trapped in a claustrophobic 'range'- Refreshingly a 60 minute drive out from the main Kissimmee area - super easy for the satnav to find, and a great opportunity to see some great parts of Florida beyond the theme parksAn unforgettable day for my 13 year old son and I - strongly recommended
Both of my girls had a great experience at this range. The intro to 9 different guns was amazing and safe. We shot hand guns (glock), semi automatics, and shot guns. The instructors gave a short history of each gun and were very professional. We had contests against the others in the group. we were shooting with people from Australia and England. A great 6 hour day. We are from Massachusetts, a very liberal state. We learned a lot about how to handle firearms safely. An important experience for teenage kids.
My husband and two sons aged 12 and 15 had an absolutely terrific day shooting a various assortment of firearms. Jim and Craig were very patient in teaching all the participants how to handle and shoot safely. The entire group looked like they had a great time. You can purchase your lunch now and we highly recommend the pulled pork (delicious). There was a good variety of firearms to experience and for visitors from overseas, many of the firearms are not readily available elsewhere so it really is a novel experience. No prior experience with firearms is needed and as long as you pay attention and do as you are told, it will surprise you just how much success you will have.
Awesome experience and nice introduction to automatic weapons for my son and I. One happy 12 year old!Jim and Craig thank you for your patience and the abundance of advice. I felt everyone had a fantastic day in our group and it was good to meet like minded individuals.Lunch provided was delicious, we will be back again when next near by.Graham
