The course is in fair condition but lags far behind other Tampa area courses in February. The fairways were in uneven shape which made chipping inconsistent. We were a group of 5 that went off as a 3 and a 2some. We ended up catching up to a 2 some ahead of us and even when we played as a 5 some we STILL had to wait on the 2 some. There was no ranger anywhere to be found. Overall, VERY overpriced for the quality of the product. Would NOT return.
Booked a tee time and thought it was odd they wouldn't give me any idea how much it would be over the phone. Found out why AFTER I got there. Being a "tourist" to the great state of Florida cost me an additional $40 on top of the $58 regular price. What a pleasant welcome that was! Are you kidding me! Been to PGA level courses and didn't have to pay extra for not being a resident! In fact, golfed at two much nice courses the two days before and they didn't charge extra. This is absolutely ridiculous! I will tell any one I know that if they want to get robbed and have a mediocre experience go for it at the Bardmoor.
The staff is rude. The golf cart guy is surly and obnoxious. Overpriced. The tee times are every 6 minutes and 9 holes took three hours. When we asked for a rain check for the back 9 after taking three hours to play front they said they don't give rain checks for slow golf. Never again!!!
I have golfed all over the world in very high end course's... Guest at Bardmoor Golf and Country Club and some little JERK ...named Chris put me right off...the arrogance! Lovely course and wonderful staff otherwise...he needs to be put in his place!
A beautiful country club nestled in a natural setting. Some homes around the outer fringes, but the course fits in beautifully. Challenging from the back tees, but very playable from the front. You will have to hit every shot in the bag! A lot of fun at a very reasonable price. Not to miss.
The course is well maintained with a great layout, fast greens, and helpful staff. My only complaint would be the extremely short fairway grass. The gentleman working in the cart garage on Wednesday, Dec. 18 was very pleasant and helped us with a special request. Overall, this is one of the better courses in this area.
Very good condition and greens were excellent. A difficult course on a windy day. Staff was very friendly and accommodating
Bardmoor is a great venue and the course is interesting with some great holes. The facilities are excellent with a good bar and a choice of different types of food.We have also found the staff welcoming. Our past experience has been that they seem to overload the Tee Times and/or don't msnage or Marshall play that well.So we play elsewhere (try Cove Cay for example). However we thought we'd give it another go and the experience was awful. It took over four and a half hours to get round which is probably undercalling it.It's counter productive to get too many players out as most people find slow play off putting. It's a real shame as it scores well in many other ways.
This is a much more enjoyable layout than the Bayou Club next door. Kind of a grip it and rip it course, but there still are enough water hazards and woods to keep you more than honest.Challenging par 5's, with good risk/reward potential. Play can get slow, but then again, this is public golf.Just a fun good layout, in mid county. Well worth playing.
I like this course because it is well maintained and not too close to houses. The landing areas are generally very forgiving and it plays as long or short as you want with four sets of tees. The clubhouse and pro shop are nice and clean. I've played here at least 50 times over the years and would recommend it to anyone.
Sunday June 29th we come to find out on the first green it is aerated as all others. Nothing from the pro shop or starter. Also see the people in front of us had five people in their group. The starter tells us one will only be hitting a few times off the tee, this should have never happened with our threesome, you know in advance it would be slow for us just having four in front. Of course he doesn't just hit a few from the tee, as we are waiting to hit we can see the fifth person actually getting lessons from another golfer. Very longgggggggggggg day for us, on a very hot day, you would think they would let us play through. Then on the back nine we now can see the group ahead of the slow five-some that is in front of us. Yes another five-some. Holy crab, this is absolutely unbelievable, what coarse doesn't mention aeration of greens and a starter allowing TWO five-somes in front of a threesome. A phone call to the pro shop and they tell us there's no ranger on the coarse but someone will be out there to see the problem, no one ever showed up. Worst management I have ever seen, last time I will be going to this coarse, with so many around the area there are many choices.
We had a great experience with this course. I made reservations a week ahead and when we went to the course we went on the wrong day and missed our tee time. They had already charged my credit card but they were understanding and let us play without paying again. They are redoing the greens so it was basically sand greens but they played almost the same. Because they were doing that we were the only people on the course. Never saw another person. We played in 3 hours flat. The course itself was wide open and very beautiful. The course is challenging in that there is lots and lots of water. But it made it beautiful. The course was very well maintained and the fairways were perfect. Yes they were working on the greens but for a couple of hackers it was just a beautiful course and an enjoyable time.
Maybe I'm biased because I used to work near here, but I have always loved Bardmoor. I love coming here in the summers. Great tennis courts, great pool, and fabulous gold course. But it is Florida, so make sure you bring cold water and sunscreen.
Four of us played this course and loved it. The course is maintained pristinely - get ready for fast greens!! Some wildlife on the course - unfortunately lots of homes, too. LOTS of great water holes and water to go over! I enjoyed that a lot! I definitely would enjoy going back and trying my skill at this course again!
Sharing will encourage others to go here, but this is a WONDERFUL course. The fairways were very well maintained, the greens were amazing and very receptive, the carts were well maintained, the staff was just wonderful. We fully intend on making this our Wednesday golf course! The ONLY thing that I would suggest is to keep a starter in the booth. Since it became self-starting for twilight golf, we got bunched up pretty fast, but everyone was polite and played on pace. The driving range is handled by a token-operated machine which means that you don't have to wait for someone to take a payment and the carry to the range is very short. All in all, an excellent experience. This is, by far, the best course that I have played in the Tampa Bay area and I live near Chi Chi Rodriguez GC.The staff should be proud and all of those that we came into contact with should be commended on their interaction with the general public!
