Our group dined at Beets in March. Everyone needs to experience Berts Bar at least once! Our server was fin the food was good and the view spectacular!
Berts Bar had a fun atmosphere, good food and reasonable prices. Would definitely go back when the weather is cooler so we can enjoy their outdoor deck.
Had a fun time with friends eating at Berts Bar. Its on the water and there are places to sit outside. It was hot the day we went there so ate inside. ( Only issue with this is that you couldn't hear the music outside on the deck. It is fairly dark inside too. Foodwas good, and reasonably priced fort the area. Parking is tight as its right on the street. We enjoyed it very much and will go back. Am sure that in season its very crowded!
The Peel 'n Eat Shrimp were fresh and the beer was cold. Unfortunately we were sitting in a location where the solo musician outside was competing with music being played inside. Not the best combo.
Enjoy the food, entertainment & atmosphere...especially on the wharf. Food is excellent, the Friday fish fry is so good
Bert's is one of our favorite places to go for fish & chips, as well as sitting out by the water to enjoy a warm evening! We almost always see a dolphin, manatee, group of mullet or other fishy wildlife. It is a fun little place and some of the best fish and chips -- prefer the regular fish and chips to the all you can eat on Wednesdays and Fridays. One, you really don't need any more than their regular servings! Two, the regular meals come with their delicious spiral cooked home fries. Yum!
We have enjoyed lunch at Bert's twice now. Great outdoor setting with very tasty food and excellent service. We also really enjoyed the live Calypso music on both of our visits. We are looking to going back for dinner.
This place is great if you want good food with a gorgeous view. The day we went , there was music provided by Calypso Magic. Absolutely loved his music!! He had a great collection of music mixed with a Caribbean flare!! Staff is friendly and attentive.
Fun bar/restaurant with live music on the weekends and outdoor seating on the water. Food was great and inexpensive. Service was very friendly. They have a pool table and the coolest lobster catching game. It was a claw machine where you pay $2 or $3 to try to catch one of the lobsters! They wiggle once you get them though.. didn't end up winning any but definitely had fun trying.
Fun place on the water ,good beer friendly people . Food was good for what it was a bar and grill. My shrimp were good grilled and good portion.
This place was started back during world war II as a place where trainees could come to unwind. It is TRUE OLD FLORIDA and just a fun fun place. If you can sit outside or at least walk outside to see the view - it is wonderful. I have lived here for years and I still go at least once a week. EVERYONE is nice and you will likely meet the owner if you hang around in the "backroom" after 6 PM. Then there is the 91 yr. old mayor who has his own place at the bar EVERY night. Enjoy.Coconut Pete
The view is great and it is a fun little funky bar. The food was just ok. The menu asks for patience as the food is 'made to order'. I asked for a veggie flatbread pizza (on the menu) with no cheese. It couldn't be done because they were pre-made. Hmm...? The fries are good as are the chips.
Stopped here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The view is great, there was live music and service was good and friendly. I had the blackened grouper and it was excellent. The homemade chips were a perfect side to the sandwich.
Stopped for lunch on a hot Saturday. Overflow parking available across the road. All outside tables were full but managed to get one inside near the window with views of the water and boats.Good choice of food. Grouper was excellent, shrimp tacos were good, blackened shrimps excellent, New Hampshire clam chowder was also very good. Waiter was very busy but ensured we received good service. Food reasonably priced
While parking can be a challenge, it's worth the effort to stop at Bert's while out in Matlacha. It's a funky little bar filled with funky people from all over the world. View of the water is fantastic - every time I've been there I've seen dolphin playing.
