We spent a holiday weekend with our family in one of the parks cabins. The cabins are all on stilts so there are a lot of stairs. There is one cabin that is wheelchair accessible using a lift. The cabin we stayed in was cute as it could be with lots of nice features. The cabins all have nice big screened in porches. One side faces the river (but you can't see it, the area is really overgrown)and has a swing and rocking chairs. The other side has a picnic table. Under the cabin is another picnic table, a grill, and a fire pit. The springs were gorgeous with crystal clear, ice cold water. Very refreshing after a long hot bike ride thru the north end of the park. We also walked around the park to see the other springs. The prettiest one is kind of a hidden gem. It's right near the campground but you can't swim in it. I'm not sure why, sign just says noswimming. Just watch out for spiders! We loved the park and plan to go back.

This place is a hidden gem. I live an hour and a half away & had never heard of it. We stayed with my family last weekend. The cabins are very nice. Wrap around porch with swing, fireplace, cute decor, comfy beds, nice kitchen. Plenty to explore. The springs are beautiful!

I love the area. We gather to BBQ, socialize and celebrate. Always clean. Easily accessible by vehicle. The springs are lots of fun for the kids! There are campsites if you want to stay over. The Suwannee River flows right by the springs, actually connecting to it so there are lots of things to do. We tube or knee board from boats in the river as well

We stayed at one of the cabins of Lafayette Blue Springs State Park.First impression of a park “cabin” with a pitcher pump in the sink, a nearby outhouse and no electricity could not be much farther from the truth. These “cabins” are furnished 2 bedroom 1 bath apartments. Cabin comes with electricity, hot water, refrig with ice maker, stove, dishes, pots and pans, fireplace, real wood furniture and screened porch. Also outside grill and fire ring. See photos 1 to 3. Cabin does not have Internet, Wi-Fi or TV. Cell phone might not connect. Radio works.Nearest town for food and supplies is Mayo (8 miles). Nearest Publix or Wal-Mart is MUCH farther. Make the list and check it twice. The fun part is “roughing it” at the cabin, not driving back and forth. This is hunting country. We could hear gunfire. We did not see much wildlife, but the area has plenty including deer, coyote and snakes. Park is quiet. We could hear the Barred Owl at night.Notes:1. Cabins are walking distance to the Suwannee – and boat ramp. We were there during a dry spell, but there is reason for the cabins to be on the “second floor.” Depending on rainfall and upstream conditions, this area could get flooded. Check water levels with the Rangers or the Suwannee River Water Management District (SRWMD) for the time you plan to stay.2. Do not confuse Lafayette Blue Springs with Blue Spring at Orange City. When making arrangements over the phone we almost reserved a cabin at the wrong one.I have been “debated” about whether the recent record low flows in this spring and others nearby might be a natural variation or caused by withdrawal of water from the aquifer by humans. See photo 4 of one of the park’s sinkholes (?) and photo 5 of the Suwannee near the boat ramp. Visit these springs and decide for yourself. If I am right, think about going some time soon before the springs dry up.

This is an understated park but quite nice for a midway stop if you are crossing the state. At first glance you may only see the one spring going to the river but across from the ramp (coming up from the river) you will see a driveway and a sign that says "No Swimming" next to a small trail...if you go down the trail you will be treated to 2.5 additional springs that are even more impressive than the first one. The spring at the end of the trail I thought was the most impressive.Over all the park is very quite and tranquil, the sounds of birds and water are very calming. Park fee was $5

Nice clean cabins, it's so peacefully quiet. The deer come out right about sunset, birds everywhere. You can hike the back trails, start out along the trail next to cabin 5 and go from there.

Cabins are very nice-all the comforts of home. Comfortable beds, nice couches, small but adequate kitchen, large screened porch with swing, rocking chairs & picnic table. Nice area to swim wit small beach.

This is a beautiful and under-appreciated area of our state. The cabins are top notch -- comfy, clean adn well appointed. The Park has its own small swimming spring and we used it as a launching point to others such as Peacock Springs and Troy Springs.
