Rick was a great tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable about plant and wildlife. The eco tour was almost two hours and I enjoyed every minute. My boyfriend and I will definitely be returning and are looking forward to a scallopping boat trip with Rick. Thanks for a great afternoon.
We took the 10am Eco Tour. Even on an overcast winter day, we saw great beauty on the river. There were lots of different birds, interesting foliage and even an alligator. But the best thing about the tour is Captain Rick and his narration on the tour. He knows so much about the history of the area and everything on the river. We highly recommend this tour to people of all ages!
All I can say is WOW what an amazing weekend. Capt. Rick provided an Eco Tour on Thursday afternoon that had us sitting in amazment at the information we were given and the beautiful things we were able to see. I also highly recommend that you follow this tour with dinner at the Izaak Walton Lodge located at the tour launch site. They have a very unusual menu and the food is excellent. He took us scallpoing on Friday and we were given an addition Eco/Info tour on the way from the launch site to the scalloping location. He is very knowledgeable of the area and we easily got our limit for the day. Sunday he took us fishing and we caught several very large fish we let all but two go and took those home for dinner. Capt. Rick even gave us the details on how to prepare them. He clearly understands the importance of good customer service and weI will never fish with anyoine else.
If you are into laidback nature tours, this as good as it gets. A comfortable slow moving stable boat, beautiful suroundings and a captain (Adair) with a comprhensive knowledge of the area makes for great way to spend a couple of hours. I am mobile with power chair and the friends that I was with used cains to get around, and even this was no problem with the setup they have. Capt. Rick Lefiles has an excellent operation for all kinds of situations. Well worth checking out. I also shot over 300 pictures and had trouble deleting even one.
We had a wonderful guide that gave us information on the rich history of the area and the wildlife. The water was high and that keeps the gators deeper in the grass, but there were plenty of birds and other sights to see. Ospreys, and even a bald eagle were spotted. The tour leaves from the dock in front of Ike's Old Florida Kitchen...a word to the Coast Guard in the area, please take a moment to learn that the tour boats leave from there when someone from out of the area ask where an eco cruise boards. The price is reasonable and make sure you bring your camera.
After being in business for seventeen months and with over two thousand satisfied customers, I have recieved my first complaint. I regret this happened, but did try to avoid the situation by leaving a cell phone message seventeen hours prior to your scheduled trip. I'm sure we could have made other arraingments to your satifisation. Again I apologize if this caused a problem. Please accept my offer of a free trip for you and a guest if you are in the area again.Sincerely,Capt. Rick
we had a blast on the boat tour. saw Gators,Turtles, all kinds of birds, and a great history of the area by the Captian.
This was a wonderful river trip given by Gapt. Rick who was very imformative on the area. It was a lovely afternoon and I will remember it fondly as a wonderful part of our holiday - would highly recommend and would do it again. The trip was round the coastal river of Yankeetown pointing out the history and wildlife and takes you out to the Mexican Gulf, the trip was about 1.5 hours, there were six of us on the boat which we did book. If you are in the area please do try this as it is well worth it.
