All individually owned and operated shops and restaurants. The entire area seems as though it has stopped in time, circa 1960.
Pass-a-Grille is the old part of St. Pete Beach. It contains the Don Cesar hotel, the Sea Horse restaurant, and a museum open on Thurs., Fri., and Sat. detailing the history of Pass-a-Grille. It has the Wharf restaurant and is the best location for shelling in St. Pete Beach.
Nice community reminded me of Key West, beach was wonderful, during season parking is a pain. Gennero's Italian restaurant in Pass a Grille was fantastic. Shops are a little pricey but nice. Hurricane topside great place for a drink and the view.
Only drove over here later in the afternoon one day, but this is a charming community with some beautiful homes, a small selection of stores and nice galleries... and (yet another) great place to catch that Florida sunset ! Yes, parking is a bit limited; but we found it at a meter. I honestly do not know the name of the very casual outdoor restaurant / hot dog stand / bar right on the water, but we hung out there at picnic tables with a lot of other people, drank some beer and enjoyed a quesadilla as we cheered the sunset. Good fun, and another gorgeous evening to remind us why we we chose not to be in New England this March...
The beach is as good as any along the gulf side, but narrow. Parking is easy, but a bit expensive. The crowd is mostly retirees and families with children, so it is a bit more sedate than those farther north in St. Pete's. Lots of places to eat and shop.
Park the car, grab a drink, have some lunch and go shopping! Pass A Grille is a smaller area with a tiny town feel, special shops, great independent restaurants, ice cream and its a great place to take walks and watch the sunrise or sunset. Casual to dressy, its all there, day or night, just enjoy Pass A Grille!
Not really what we expected. Hard to find parking and it's expensive. Paid $12 to park for the day but only stayed an hour. Just not that much to do except a few restaurants and bars. We were disappointed.
Love this little city. Great for taking a walk and shopping in quaint little stores. Enjoyed seeing the older homes that have been lovingly preserved.
I have been to Florida numerous times and never heard of Pass a Grille until a waitress mentioned it as a must see. It is a lovely stretch just beyond the Don Cesar hotel on St Petes Beach, Spectacular sunsets, a few small jobs, feels like the 'real' USA.
As I was walking in St Pete Beach I discovered this area. The houses are beautiful and there are several shops and restaurants. I especially enjoyed Hurricanes and A Little Room for Art. There is a little something for everyone.
Historic area to explore. There are a few restaurants and shops along with plenty of parking and beach. The Saturday that I was here was rainy and a home tour was going on. Even so, it was easy to get around and explore.
