I saw some reviews on trip advisor and decided to stop by here for a quick visit. The tour, tour guide and the attraction was so amazing that i ended up spending close to an hour and half here. Our guide was a student of the Bethune Cookman University and had amazing knowledge and patience. She took us to every single room and showed us the artifacts and explained the history attached. The first floor, kitchen, personal items of Mary McLeod Bethune and second floor with guest bedrooms, sun room and her bedroom are the areas you will visit during the tour. If you are in the area, this is something you should not miss. You will be amazed at the history and heritage.

I learned so much more about Mary McLeod Bethune by visiting her home. Seeing her home allowed me to imagine her persona and understand her drive. She was an amazing woman to have started an educational institution at such a young age and what a legacy she began. The artifacts and furnishings have been well-preserved and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. No photos of the home's interior are allowed but you will receive a nice postcard with interior images by signing the guestbook.

The entire staff was knowledgeable and informative. Mary Bethune was a woman whose legacy is being maintained by young, enthusiastic individuals who truly honor her name. Learning about her and understanding the impact that she had on the community, and far beyond, was as humbling as Mary Bethune herself.

I was curious & thought I would drive by only. When I got there I saw the garden next to the home (where she is buried)so I got out of the car & explored. I walked over to the house & decided to see what it was all about. I was greeted at the door by 2 very nice women. Sandra Johnson started to give me a private tour of this wonderful old home. Everything is original & it's full of fascinating artifacts. We were joined mid tour by 2 young men from New York. May I add there is no admission fee for this tour. Eleanor Roosevelt had her own room in the house as she was a frequent guest. Many signed photos from presidents in the sunroom. It was an Informative & interesting tour & I'm so glad I stopped. Florida is so much more than just beaches!

We were greeted by the facility director, who was warm, inviting, flexible and patient. She introduced us to Angell, a student tour guide, who exhibited remarkable recall and shared the details of each room, including descriptions of the furniture and furnishings, identification of major contributors by name and gifts, photo displays family history and interesting back stories. We expanded our knowledge base beyond the usual textbook and media accounts, in a meaningful way. After the downstairs/upstairs tour, the conversation, Q&A and photo sessions continued on the porch. Angell enforced the "no photographs" rule. What a bonus it was to receive the postcard acknowledging our visit.Like her home, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune is a national treasure. May all who cross that threshold be blessed and further enriched by the experience.

We were directed to see the home by Alumni (The Daniels) and we were so very glad they told us about it. We learned so much from the entire tour about the college and the great legend Ms. Bethune and the history of the college from our tour which included the home. We were able to find out that that the cane she used was not due to a disability but rather to make her presence appear more stately. We learned unknown details and saw pictures of her relatives and travels, the dishes she used, her daily furniture and living quarters it was just a wonderful learning tool that we will never forget! Our teen came home and hung the poster given to us from the college and she believes that this is the college she wants to attend when graduation occurs. The staff was so well spoken and the entire set up is so well planned out. All I can say is this college and this tour makes their community look really outstanding, people are truly making a difference at Bethune.

It was a memorable tour, one that I will always remember. The home celebrates a remarkable woman. To see so many of her personal items preserved was touching and fascinating. The historical significance of her life's work will live on through the ages. I was humbled as I sat at her grave site and contemplated the powerful legacy that she leaves behind that so many will and have benefit from.

My tour of Mrs. Bethune's home was thrilling, humbling, and inspirational!! I felt very proud to see what she accomplished in a time of extreme racism under the southern Jim Crow system. Her life was truly divinely guided. The campus is beautiful, and breaming with interactive activities and excited students. I attended the Annual Homecoming Parade, Pep Rally, and Football game. It was "all that"!!. We had a ball and the local business are all welcoming and accommodating. I look forward to coming every year.

I vacationed with family in Daytona Beach, Labor Day week 2014. I always like to take in a city's museum district and other culturally-conscious attractions when I travel. So, we toured Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's house. It was magnificent!! The archivists and curators did a superb job at maintaining the rich history, artifacts, and quirks of the home. The home alone tells a wonderful story of perseverance, social capital, and hard work. Additionally, the tour guide (intern) did a wonderful job explaining and providing background on items throughout the foundation. As a historian of education by training (who employs archival data in my research), I was highly impressed. My mother, a non-academic, loved it as well!! 5 stars!!!

Our trip to Bethune Cookman College was very informative, rewarding and exciting! I absolutely loved the tour of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune's home and how well students and staff have kept the founder's original contents perserved. As well as paying respect to her final resting place was an honor. Special thanks to our campus tour guide Erica, senior student on campus who was both willing and prepared to provide one educational and rewarding tour. I only wish the dress code was reinforced to represent such prestige, honourable black rose.

We was unable to tour Dr. Bethune home on the inside, but, you felt her spirit on the outside. We walked on the trail behind the home and was filled with joy and tears. Thanking God for the opportunity to visit and to leave our child there.
