If you are not a NASCAR fan. If you are busy in the area, if you couldn't care less about racing....YOU STILL MUST MUST MUST DO THIS EXPERIENCE!! IT"S AMAZING. We have a rule now. Anyone who visits, HAS to do the ride-a-long (it's a little over $100) and they MUST buy one plaque ($35) to hang on our wall....it's AMAZING. DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY, PLUS it's ON DAYTONA!!! You can't get any better than DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY. DO IT!!!! Go 1st thing in the AM. You can get on then. just GO. ALSO do the Track tour....not as exciting but it IS interesting, even if you're not a race fan!GO TO THE RIDE A LONG!!!

your can't be pre-booked & on a 1st come 1st served basis. so once they fill up if no more seats you have to wait for the next tour time....1 hour later....you can go shopping at valusia mall or eat at appleby to kill the time all walking distance from the speedway *there is a cafe, food/drinks/toilets) at the speedway also if you wanted to wait for next tour. charge your phone & take cool pictures!

This was a fantastic experience.My son wasnt sure whether he wanted to do it but no money would have paid for the smile on his face after the ride.Cost $75(£43 at time) which for the experience was well worth it.if you go to the speedway dont do what I did in 2013.Turned down the chance to do the ride so thats why we went back in 2014.

We did the ride-along experience and it was FANTASTIC! Very professional and worth every dime. Staff were very professional in assistance while transitioning into the outfit, helmet and climbing into the car. Please, don't hesitate to book. You will be SOOOOO glad you did.

Dont think NASCAR is a sport? Try driving a race car at 170 + miles per hour around the most famous track in the world. What an absolute rush! The staff is 1st class. Everyone takes care of you and makes you feel safe while also limiting the amount of "rules" that often kills the thrills. Drive or ride, but you owe it to yourself to experience this unique thrill of a lifetime

We were attending Speed Week before the DAYTONA 500 race. On one of the non-event days they offered either riding in a race car or driving a race car. We chose the riding. For $135 we got suited up, buckled into a race car and driven around the track 3 times, feeling G force of 2.5 Gs, at 170 MPH. It is very exciting. Helps you appreciate how difficult it is for professional drivers. They take the turns at different angles so you can feel the difference being high on the wall and being low on the wall.Afterward they take your picture in the car and offer it for sale in a framed plaque if you want. They also offer you a video if you want it. We didn't take either.

When I signed up for the Rookie Driving Experience in Daytona Beach, I was a bit skeptical. My fear was that it was all glitz and glimmer and that there would be no substance to the program. I assumed that there would be all kinds of restrictions on speed and I would end up being disappointed. HOWEVER, nothing could be farther from the truth. This was the real thing. I am 60 years old and have done a lot of crazy things in my life, but this was by far the most exciting, exhilarating, intense, adrenaline filled experience ever!!! I reached 152 miles per hour and the G-force going into the corners was intense. I could have gone faster if I desired but that was all I had in me! Anyone looking for the thrill of a lifetime give this program a shot.

Get there first thing when it opens to beat the crowds. We had three guys doing ride alongside. Ages 10, 50 and 70. All three had a blast. You get three laps around the track, which all of them agreed that 5 laps would of been lots of fun, but 10 would of been more then needed. You can also buy a photo of you in the car at the end. Some come with a plaque and also flash drive video is available. Prices are fair, compared to other theme park prices. Worth the money if you have the need for speed.

The last time I drove you followed a car and now they have a driver ride with you. Better than before and that was the biggest rush I've had. I also did the ride along this time which was good but just three laps. I do plan to go back here again or maybe the road course version in Las Vegas.

Had a fantastic 3 lap ride along experience and a great experience it was :). I am a wheelchair user with mobility issues and the staff on hand were superb at giving a little extra help to get in and out of car. Thank you for making a dream come true. Highly recommended and a must do if visiting Daytona Speedway

As a Christmas gift my family gave me an 8 Lap Rookie package at the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Daytona Speedway. There are no governors on these cars. You can go over 170 MPH. There is a training course prior and when you drive you have an instructor sitting in the passenger seat to guide, though he has no control over the car.It is an unbelievable experience and not for the faint of heart. Try accelerating into a corner at 140 to 150 MPH. Mt top seed was 151.You will have an unbelievable appreciation for race car drivers who have to maintain an unbelievable level of concentration for 200 laps at almost 200MPH.One word " wow".

Husband had a ride along and even tho it didnt last long....he said it was one of the coolest things he's ever experienced. I had bought a gift card a few months earlier and the whole process was very smooth and well run (like a great pit crew.) I almost missed him because they are loading in riders a little bit down from "the fans" and other people were getting loaded into cars that they were driving themselves. You get a photo when you are first in the car and then the option of buying a video of your laps (the video shows a split screen of your face and also the track ahead.) I'm sure he'd like to go back and try the next level of driving himself...and I may try a ride along myself. Everyone who I saw come back was pumped and felt it was worth it. If nothing else, at least go for a tour...it's an amazing place.

Yep, that about says it all. Seriously, if anyone you know and love likes NASCAR racing, buy this for them, like my wife did for me. You are alone in the car and following a pro driver. The first turn looms like your driving into a wall. The staff are awesome and truly concerned about making sure you have the time of your life. The fun part is trying to keep up with the pro. I was so worried that the car wouldn't stick that I really never got up to max speed at Daytona and topped out at 168mph. Next time Daytona, next time...
