Thank you for visiting the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier! You may be interested to learn that the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier costs $350,000 a year to operate and maintain. The 175,000 people that visit the Pier annually help offset this expense to Deerfield Beach residents by paying a $1 entrance fee. The Pier requires staffing 7 days a week and 365 days a year to greet patrons, answer questions, handle bait and tackle sales and rentals, monitor Pier safety and often times serve as first responders to visitors in case of an emergency. Pier staff also offer periodic workshops to inform patrons about the Pier and this unique coastal environment. The Pier is an active fishing area so daily washing, trash and debris removal is essential to ensure a pleasant environment for fishing enthusiasts and sightseers alike. The dollar you pay goes a long way to ensuring a pleasant experience for all Pier visitors.Thank you and please visit again!
We spent 4 days here on the South Side of the pier were you can rent beach cabanas. The South side has an older demographic (no games allowed on the South Side). The North side is much younger with volley ball nets and boogie boards. If you are going to spend more than one day at the beach on your vacation and would like to rent a cabana, there is a savings for prepaying for more days. It's $45 for one cabana (with the two chairs). We paid $99 for four days. Just save your receipt and they check off the day each time you use it. You can pay $2.00 per hour to park in public parking or pay a flat $15.00 for the day behind the Wyndham Hotel. If you eat in one of their restaurants you will receive $5.00 or $10.00 cash back (depending on how much money you spend). Many adjacent restaurants to the beach. Also, check out Island Water Sports - pretty cool store. My son purchased a skate board there. I've been coming to South Florida for many years and I've never seen people surfing like they do here in Deerfield. We got lucky and happened to be here during the 68th Annual Founders Day Celebration (Friday thru Sunday) right adjacent to the beach.
For $1 you can walk out and get a good view of the shoreline and the emerald green water. Apparently this was just re-built. Check out what everyone is fishing for as well.
Nice place to walk around. Good views of the ocean. A must go for all anglers! They do charge a nominal $1 entry though which is valid till the midnight and allows multiple entries
The pier was well maintained due to the bird population and daily fishermen. They provide cleaning tables for anyone to use to clean their catch. It's a great place to snap a few photos. The cost is $1. per person or $4. if you intend to fish.
Very nice lady at the booth to explain everything. Not expensive. Fun! Great view from the pier. Enjoyed the sun and surf.
Great for fishing, siteseeing or gawking, this pier is enjoyed by all. We could see stingrays swimming in the clear, shallow Atlantic Ocean. There is a café at its base, along with restrooms too.
Love this area. Visited many times as I lived in Boynton Beach. Beautiful sights, fishing and plenty of restaurants, and shopping. Close to Fort Lauderdale.
My wife and I enjoyed the pier, the people, watching the fisherman, et all - and the views from the pier breathtaking,
Lots of fisherman here - so lots of fishy remnants! However these guys are super friendly - learnt a lot! Amazing sunrise - worth the early start.
The beach and the broadwalk are one of my favorite places in the world. The whole place is simply gorgeous! Great for families!
The beach was beautiful and is in the perfect location. There are chairs at the beach available for renting which is great for people who are on vacation. This beach was a great experience!
I was there visiting my Mom who lives there. Walked the pier and it was not too crowded. Couple fishermen at end of pier. Pelican perched right next to us :) Beautiful day and walked the boardwalk a ways. Parking pretty convenient. I think the $1 charge is a good thing but the girl working was more involved in her cell phone conversation than her job. Oh well, not a biggie.
It's good for the scenery, but fishing not so much!! If you intend on fishing, make sure you bring your own things since they charge $15 to rent the rod and bait. Also there is a $1.00 charge to be on the pier which is a great idea that keeps unwanted people away!
This a very good beer and burger joint. Of course the location makes the experience. I have found that while it is a snack or lunch spot the service is excellent far beyond what one would expect at such a foodery.
