My chicken salad, cranberry and walnut sandwich was very tasty. Had we been staying in the area longer, I would have tried their soups.

This is a great general store, We bought sandwiches on two occasions and were very pleased. The service was friendly and quick. Both pre-prepared and on-the-spot prepared sandwiches were delicious and fairly priced. The store has lots of other "goodies" to tempt you.

If you like small lakes and/or to swim, try a dip in Silver Lake park just down the road. This store is wonderful, old wide plank floors, wonderful products - and, a counter that serves MILKSHAKES, very good!! Perfect after a swim in the lake.

Great breakfast. Pancakes are awesome. Super friendly workers who were lovely to our children. A really relaxed fun environment. Returned for the 20th Annual Street Dance which was a riot!!! Kids loved the fire performers, lanterns, and dancing. My husband was at the 1st and was very happy to share the 20th with the family.

This store easily makes you feel welcome. It's located right outside of Silver Lake Park, so you can easily stop by and stock up on food and charcoals. We even stopped by the next day to try their sandwiches. Amazing!

I have been going to. Barnard, Bermont for the past 23 year. Barnard General Store is a truly wonderful place to visit. My summer would not be complete without our annual weekend in Barnard and enjoying the all the Barnard Store has to offer!

We rented a house near the store and we were happy it was so well stocked. We were able to get great sandwiches and soup after skiing and buy what we needed for making dinner. The fresh bread, when available, is worth buying and the chili is excellent. The stores in the area are limited so this is an excellent addition to the Barnard area.

For a small store it has a surprisingly complete selection of food, wine, and -- best! -- early delivery of New York Times and Boston Globe. Friendly staff, nice hub for coffee to groceries.

The General store, located by a small VT lake in a very quaint site, is everything you would expect in the tradition of a small VT general store. It has a little bit of everthing and is just a fun place to visit.

If you're in Woodstock and want a pretty drive to an authentic nook of Vermont, head over to the Barnard General Store for breakfast or lunch. Closed briefly for a time last year, the General Store is back up and running with all the same great features. You can stock up on tons of local beers or great wines. Whole grain goodness can be found in the cookies and breads from local bakers. If you need general supplies (toiletries, camping supplies, food), they've got that too! We always stock up on Vermont Coffee Co. when we're there and grab (I know it's cliche but...) maple syrup for presents. They also have post cards, maple candy, Cabot cheese and cute General Store tee shirts too. The cafe has hot cocoa, Vermont coffee and tea. They serve limited breakfast options like eggs-sausage-toast or an avacado wrap with eggs-sausage-Cabot cheese. You can get wraps and sandwiches at lunch as well. I do miss the old hearty breakfast and their pancakes were divine! I hope to see the menu grow again to some of the great variety they used to have. We'll be back every time we come through the area to keep checking!

The store was closed last summer, but I can see what an asset this is to Barnard. The General Store has a little bit of everything you might need!

This country store has great ice cream and is across form a lake that you can boat and go swimming in. I enjoyed visiting it.

I was staying down the road at the Cobblehouse Inn and went kayaking with some family and friends. After a few hours my 12 year wanted lunch and we headed to the General Store in Barnard. I wasn't expecting much and was quite pleased at how good are sandwiches were. Not only were the prices reasonable, but you get to eat them lakeside right in front of the place. I would definitely go back again.

We were taken here for supper. I suppose if I had not eaten a sandwich for lunch I might have enjoyed the wrap. Very limited on what they serve. The store itself is a step back in time when the corner grocery store was the hub of town...it even had a porch & that old squeaky screen door. Brought a smile to my face. We have a friend that lives there so we will be back. I just have to prepare myself to eat a wrap or sandwich.

2008 war es ein richtig schöner Laden um die Ecke, lecker Imbiss und auch sonst hat man fast alles dort bekommen. 2012 wurde er gerade umgebaut, wir waren traurig.
