We rented from Vermont Canoe and Kayak in June - the service was friendly and accommodating. But $70 is way overpriced for a double kayak for a 2 hour slow paddle. The scenery was not as mountainous as we hoped either. Would not do this again - but would look to paddle somewhere else in the larger area.

Took the kayaks out and floated down the stream. Very pleasant and relaxing. Nothing strenuous, so go for the solitude it will provide.

We took a canoe tour with the Umiak Canoes and Kayaks guides. Love the winding river trip, shallow and gentle current, through the green farmland in that area of Vermont. Views of the mountains off in the distance, and an easy paddle down the river that ends at a lovely little winery. Unfortunately the Umiak Tour group is not available yet for review on Trip Advisor, but the guides were very friendly and encouraging, and spent a little time with us teaching technique and safety for kayaking and canoeing.
