lots of snow, hard to see, but the gorge interpretive trail was a fun stop. Will definitely come back in warmer weather to see the gorge in its glory.

Dont miss this if your there...if there has been snowfall or ice, micro spikes would make the trek less treachous we went anyway and it was quite slippery and youmare walking on the edge of a deep gourge would have been much better with some yak trax or micro spikes....but was doable without take the previous suggestion from anothe review and put sterling gorge rd into your gps/phone and it will take you right there otherwise its 17mins from the black cap coffe shop in down town stowe(just enough timeto finish your latte before the hike!

We could well have missed this but fortunately we didn't. It really is a gem of a place and somewhere Vermont's tourist board should look to enhance, Both beautiful and tranquil and offers the chance to see one of the covered bridges of the area.

The trail doesn't take too long to walk, maybe 1/2 hour. The Falls look gorgeous and worth the trip. It takes about 10-15 minutes from Stowe downtown to get to the trail.

Good, short walk off the highway to very picturesque gorge with waterfalls, rocks and colourful trees.

A little difficult to find but well worth the effort. Medium grade walk down the Gorge. After the Gorge we walked Papa's trail into the woods which added to the whole experience. So peaceful and the colours of the Fall were all around us.

The Sterling Falls Gorge is ABSOLUTELY beautiful! Very glad I was able to find this place, after a long drive around and around. The directions on TripAdvisor aren't very reliable, just enter Sterling Gorge Rd into your GPS and it'll bring you literally right to where you need to go. As for the Gorge, wow, beautiful views, amazing waterfalls, and very gorgeous. The Vermont Wilderness is incredible, and this is one of many many examples of that. Definitely recommend!

Nice moderate walk to beautiful falls, peaceful, beautiful! Process of getting there is a bit tough, but we found specific directions on line which mad it easier for us to find. Parked close and took the walk. Trail has 7 stops that feature written naratives as you go along. For us it was fun and so worth the time to do.

My wife and I hiked to the falls and we not disappointed. You have many photo opportunities to capture the beautiful scenery. The hike is moderate due to the many steps down the gorge. Be careful if the ground, and rocks are wet it could get slippery.Pack a lunch because at the bottom near the creek is a pick-nick table. Very nice and quiet, all you hear is the water flowing over the rocks. Note: The gorge hike starts on the left side of the bridge after you cross it. Hope this helps.

After reading other tripadvisor reviews, we made this destination a must see before we left Vermont. It was definitely worth it! It has many trails, but a bit difficult to find. We took the interpretive trail (or something like that?) , which was stunning. However, my only complaint is the lack of signs. Even with a map, it was difficult to follow, and there are minimal trail markers and signs. My mom and I read that you can see a waterfall from the Upper Gorge Loop, and hiked the entire thing, which was much longer than we thought, and had a lot of incline... and we didn't see any falls. It was a disappointment, but at the same time, we probably didn't research it enough and thought the falls would just appear on the trail out of nowhere. We're still not sure, but you may need to take the Crossroads trail to see the falls? Overall, a beautiful bunch of trails and scenery. We went early in the morning so we were the only hikers there, and when we left around 11, it began to fill up a bit. Overall... A MUST SEE.

It might take a bit of finding but GO THERE. it's well worth the drive. I,'ll p o st some photos later but to be honest seeing it for yourself would have more of an impact

We visit Sterling Falls Gorge every couple of years. While it is a little off the beaten path, the drive is scenic. The gorge is protected by the Anderson family, thank you. A lot of the surrounding area is now protected as well. The path along and overlooking the gorge makes for a pleasant walk. While there check out the other hiking/walking opportunities.

After several years going to Stowe, we finally found a hike that I truly enjoyed. The views are great and trail moderate. Since I have a bum knee, I had to wear my leg brace and I was happy I did, there are sections that are pretty steep so heading back it put alittle more pressure on my knee. There are plenty of places to stop and enough the views either on a rock or a tree stump. Everyone was friendly, offered to help when needed and enjoyed the fresh outdoors. a must see if you like hiking.

A short walk from the road, the trail is worth the walk and the falls are fantastic, we took some great pictures and had lunch at the top of the falls. Loved every bit of it.

DKEVERYDAY

We visited really early in the morning and we were the only ones there. We walked to the top of the cliff and stood in front of the falls for a bit. I got vertigo when I looked over the edge. Not for the faint of heart, for sure. We walked back down and then walked a bit in the water to enjoy the view from below. It was incredible. Well worth a visit.
