I played in June and September this year. There was a lot of rain before my visit in June and the course did not handle it well. Fairway shots on some holes sunk in the mud. Glad I gave it another try in September as the water issues subsided and the play was much more enjoyable.
The leaves were at their peak colors and contrasted beautifully with the grass on the fairways. Have played this course multiple times and are always glad for golf carts. Interesting mountain course and many opportunities to loose golf balls into mountain streams and woods
The course is in excellent shape unlike so many that had trouble coming back after the hard winter. Lots of water hazards and sand to get into trouble with but the views are so worth playing here.
This is what some people might call a target course...important to keep your ball in the fairway, otherwise you will never find it again. But it's a pretty course and we really enjoyed it...the one challenge is that is was fairly wet (even soggy) it had been raining, when we spoke to the locals they said it had a reputation for drainage problems. That said, if you're in Killington and you like to golf, it's worth the time .
This is such a beautiful course. Right near Killington mountain too. There's a great restaurant little restaurant to grab a bite to eat either before or after you golf!
This is one of the nicest courses I have played. I was so impressed, I went back the next day and played another round of 18! Reasonable price and very well kept. Difficult but not insane. I shot in the low 90's. If you are in Killington, play this course!
We played Killington as part of a golf weekend in the Killington area. We were kind of disappointed with the course. We visited early season and it was in poor shape which is understandable because it had been wet. The greens hadn't been cut in awhile and the fairways were long as well. We felt that the course was a bit unfair with so many blind tee shots (especially for people who have never played there before). All of the staff were super nice. We still had a good time but I would recommend Green Mountain National or Okemo Valley over Killington.
I just came back from a golf weekend and one of the days was spent at Killington Golf Course. I was a bit disappointed with the course. I have never played so many uphill holes. Not my idea of fun, but I guess it's to be expected when the course is on the side of a mountain. It was very challenging to the point of frustration. It was also overpriced. I paid $80 for 18 holes and a cart and then they tacked on a tax on top of that. I had never been charged a tax on top of greens fees before. Why not just include it in the fee you charge? It's misleading when comparing greens fees of other area courses. The driving range was really bad. Perhaps it will improve as the season goes on, but I do not like hitting off astro turf with plastic tees. The bright spot was that the staff was very nice and accommodating. Probably won't play there again though. Not worth the cost.
Played two rounds of golf over the weekend at the Killington Golf course. The course was in excellent shape with views of the mountains on just about every hole.I'd imagine when the fall foliage is in it is especially beautiful!Service was top notch and always with a smile. They greaeed you at your vehicle with a golf cart and took care of loading your clubs, handing you accessories like tees, ball markers and got you to the club house. All of the Killington personnel greaed you with a smile and made you feel at home.Lunch at the club house was also excellent. I recommend the seared Ahi salad! If you like golf and especially mountain golf do not miss playing a round at Killington!
played in the afternoon and rcvd the discounted rate - thank goodness we did not pay full price.Fairways and tee boxes were horrible - some holes were actually unplayable.Very dissapointed. The only plus was that the starter let us go out on he back 9 so we did not get stuck behind a foursome.Cart girl came around abouot every 4 holes so she was doing her job by coninuting her loop - maybe they thought if we drink enough we would forget what sort of shape the course was in....The views are stunning - its a shame they do not put the $$$ into this and make it a year around attraction
Very good layout, greens in good shape, Challenging.
Enjoyed the views, wildlife and nice course. Had lunch after the 9th hole over looking the course. Good food and COLD beers to get me through the rest of the round!
