The water is always freezing. This park needs updating, its the same park for 30 years. They do have batting cages, go carts and a picnic area. Its a good local place for young kids but older kids will get bored quickly.
I would give no stars if I was able too. The only reason I say this is horrible is because I bought Monday passes (for yesterday) and when we got there, there was a sign that said "Closed due to inclement weather". We were so upset. It was a perfect day weather wise but they decided to just take people's money and then close the place. So unprofessional. I will never ever attempt to go there again. We are on vacation in Geneva and thought it would be a good place to take the kids. Never again! I personally hope they go out of business. Thankfully I submitted a claim through my credit card company and they already refunded me the money and considered the case closed.
My family and I went to Pioneer waterland back in July. It was a very nice place to go for an outing. They had alot of things you can do, swimming, go-karts, water slides, putt putt, and many others. The space was just right, they maintained a clean environment.
Pioneer Waterland offers a lot of kid-friendly activities for a low price. The park and attractions are clean, with the exception of the bathrooms. There are rarely lines for the water slides, go-karts, lazy river, or paddle boats. They have picnic tables, grills, and chairs in some areas. The lifeguards are very attentive. Yes, this is an older and smaller waterpark, but they offer something for every age group. I would have rated as 'very good' if their bathrooms were cleaner. Check out their website for discount tickets.
This is one of the best kept secrets around! 8 months to 80 years will enjoy this place. Easily walked, great small childrens area; everybody loves the lazy river, go carts are a blast (small $3.00 charge). Can pack coolers and a picnic lunch/dinner. Paddleboats, water slides, swimming pool, LOTS of fun. Great place for family reunions, and birthday parties too! This is NOT Cedar Point, if you want that kind of craziness go for it.
when you live out in the boonies, it is nice to have a place like this to take the kids. (this place is in the boonies too) Fun times
Been going here since I was young and got the chance to take my son for the first time this past summer! We had a blast and ate good!
we have been going here for the past 3 years now and always have a great time when we do. i personally like the lazy river because it is just relaxing. food is decent price.
First let me say that if you are into the Disney , Wildwater Kingdom, Kalahari commercial waterparks, Pioneer is NOT the place for you. It is located in the middle of rural environment and there is nothing close to it. Attractions are very low-key. The lazy river is perfect for LAZY floating on a hot day. There are 3 large slides for the more adventurist, but again, this are very tame compared to the large commercial parks. The pools is crisp and clean and very large. You can bring chairs, umbrellas , blankets..to set up any where around the pool. They do have the deep water fenced off, so there is no deep water swimming. There are paddleboats on a separate smaller lake. GoCarts are the only thing priced separated. no frills Putt putt is available. there are several other old school, tame attractions - basketballs hoops, batting cages, childrens playground areas, slides. There is vast areas of pavilions, picnic areas for larger groups or just for single families. Large community grills are available for cooking (bring your charcoal) other grills are not permitted. This is a place you can easily have a very large group picnic or gathering. Pre brought discounted price tickets are always available on the website. They also do have half price deals at various sites. Not sure it is worth the 19.95 regular price. I have always bought tickets for 14.95 or 9.95. Group rates are greatly discounted. Additionally you can purchase 1/2 price tickets for your next visit when you are at the park.Season passes are a great deal if this is your thing and you are close to Pioneer. With the exception of the slides, you really do not have to wait for anything. There is a snack bar where you can buy food, burgers, fries, etc... but it is pretty pricey for what you get, but the food looks good, Available if you don't want to bring a cooler. Other than that you can bring as much food...coolers etc as you want. Great for a close place to go on a hot summer day. Just do not expect the excitement of Disney like entertainment. Facilities do need updated. There are no showers available, just rest rooms and changing areas.
Bought these tickets online at a massive discount. The pool had a ton of lifegaurds to keep the kids following the rules. We just set up our picnic in the shade and had a great day. THIS PLACE IS DATED - DO NOT EXPECT CLEAN BATHROOMS OR PERFECTION! Lazy River is exactly as I remember it as a child.
We took several kids from our church to Pioneer Waterland. The ages were 10-14. Because Pioneer is a smaller waterpark, we were able to let the kids have lots of freedom while still seeing them very often. The lazy river is actually the laziest I've ever used. I wish it had a fountain or small rapids to add more interest. There are three types of water slides--speed, 2 spiral, and one totally enclosed!Tired of the water? Potato guns, putt-putt, hitting golf, balls, and go-carts. However, the go-carts cost extra, and the ride is only about 4 minutes. The website is very helpful in that we were able to purchase our tickets ahead of time and save quite a bit of money. There is a $4 parking fee which was not clearly stated on the website, so that really needs to be updated. Also, a clock would be handy. Since most people use their cell phones for watches, and since cell phones shouldn't be carried throughout a water park, a clearly-seen clock is really important.Cell-phones--reception is minimal. Do not count on it!We took enough food for two meals, although there is a snack shack.
