vermilion valley vineyards

Though we're locals, somehow we just had never made it to Vermilion Valley. Wow, we're so glad we did. We had an excellent conversation with friendly winemaker Joe, who obviously took much pride in his wines. We liked everything we tried, and we tasted everything dry or just slightly sweet. Really, they are making some excellent wines!! We were also impressed that they have a good Cab Franc and a Lemberber - not easy wines to produce in this area. They are entirely estate bottled. The location is beautiful (wishing you had an indoor fireplace!), with a sweeping countryside vista. Obviously, many places to enjoy your wine outdoors in the nice weather, including a great patio. Food offered as well - we had a reasonably-priced bread and cheese plate that could have served four. A great upstairs loft that you can reserve for private parties as well. We will definitely return to this lovely spot, with their very good wines!

Needs some work on the grounds, but the wine is vey acceptable. We enjoyed a dry red blend....I am sure this vineyard has a exciting future.

You must stop by for a visit to this boutique winery that is making some incredible wine! All European grapes are grown on this 22 acre vineyard which makes amazing Ohio Estate Wines.Last year's bumper crop has saved the winery by providing a 2 year supply of wine to fill the gap from the shortage caused by the Polar Vortex that struck the Lake Erie Region.A recent addition is a wedding pavilion up on a hill overlooking the all natural country scenery and vineyard. This place is so beautiful & peaceful. They have a fantastic selection of wines & tasty foods to pair them with. The owners are doing a fantastic job of creating a fine reputation. Excellent for star gazing in the summer. :)

Love the ambiance of the winery! The food is yummy and the wines are amazing! Try the chambourcin and/or the lemburger. They are the best! Unusual varietals of European wines grown in Ohio make this an unexpected treasure on the far west side of Cleveland.
