carmike dunkin theatre 1

This theater has changed little in the many years of its existence. The picture and sound quality are very good with a large lobby and ample concession stand. Carmike supplies with first run movies. Unfortunately the balcony is now closed off for seating and potential romancing.

it's a nice old original downtown theatre, we really like comin' here but we may have made our last trip here last nite. the admission prices are really low, and we understand that they need to make a bit of that back at the concession stand, but I'm afraid that $35.50 for 2 large drinks, a big bucket of popcorn, and a pack of M&M's is too much of a gouge. the drinks are re-filled for free and maybe the popcorn is too, but really, the first bucket of popcorn is plenty and won't be refilled. if the theatre management reads this and wants to chime in, I welcome their comments and/or explanation. I talked to a friend today that also went to the movies last nite at a new superplex mambo theatre, he and his wife had never-ending sodas and popcorn for $18. I could live with that.

My family went out for a movie watching experience on Christmas Day, to my surprise we went to a theater I had not heard of in Cushing, OK. The Dunkin Theater (207 E. Broadway) it is in the old downtown area of Cushing and the price for a ticket was ridiculously inexpensive. It is an old theater replete with all the old, authentic ornamentation of theaters from a bygone era. It has only one screen, and it is not stadium style seating. Though the seats and sound system appear to have been retrofitted to modern standards the rest of the theater is very authentic – though somewhat depilated. Very high ceilings and clearly some plaster has blistered. Maybe not a place to go if you’re a clean freak, but if you want an authentic throwback to old-school movie watching – while watching some new release. The Dunkin Theater is an experience I recommend.
