Not the best during the summer. Course is difficult and people play that shouldn't on top of that, they play the blues. 18 can take up to 6 hours at times. Get out early and it's okay. Greens are fast often 12-13 rating during summer. Love the layout of holes.

Not too many give-away holes, as you can lose a ball most anywhere here. With a course rating of 72.6 and a slope rating of 130, it is officially demanding from the blue tees. Usually in good shape when they get the border collie to keep the geese away. Greens are nice. Wildlife includes coyotes and bald eagles sometimes. Pro shop staff is friendly but usually very busy selling gear and giving lessons in their massive driving range. Good twilight rates.

This is where I learned to play golf. They are reasonably priced and I had great private lessons there. This isn't a snooty golf place. Go have fun!

This golf course is quite difficult.Price is standard. They do over book. You often have a 5 hour play. Good snack shop and a great restaurant is on site for happy hour after your game. If you are a weekend golfer try the new yellow tees. Really helps your score!

Presently, they are re-doing the greens on 8 and 10. Nice of them to drop the fee because of that. The course is enjoyable and the greens are well kept. Nice sale going on in the tent out front.

Played RedTail last Friday while up in Portland visiting and really enjoyed 18 at this municipal course in Beaverton. While others have complained of slow play, we didn't experience that during our Friday mid morning starting time round. Pros:Nice design, very fair, with a variety of holes. Not difficult from the whites, surprisingly good course conditions, well stocked pro shop. Great value. Cons:Although the greens were in nice condition and rolled true, they were too slow. Maybe due to the fact that this course seemed to attract its fair share of beginner and higher handicap players. And the course had many of those type of players, at least on the day we played. A tee shot from an adjacent hole hit the top of our cart, and many a "fore" could be heard throughout the day. And it would be nice to have at least the option of warming up on grass, rather than mats. Overall, I'd recommend this course if you're in the Portland area. Challenging, well designed, nice condition all make for a great value course.

We have had dinner once and lunch several times. The menu is fun, with plays on the old standards that freshen them up. Lunch menu items include Korean tacos, fish tacos, hamburgers and more. The view of the golf course from the patio is very relaxing, and the staff if great.

A beautiful city course nestled amongst towering trees; I haven't golfed there for years, but do enjoy the ambiance and good food in the Stockpot Lounge which is beautifully appointed and has a nice panoramic view of the 18th? hole. If you've gone to Washington Square to shop, I would definitely come here (less than a mile away) for lunch or dinner.

I've eaten at the Red Tail golf course. The dining room is called "The Stockpot". I have not played golf on this course because I'm really not a golfer although my little sister likes it. The dining room is set right on the golf course so it's in a very scenic place. The food is excellent, but expensive. It's not a place I'd go on a regular basis, but only for a special occasion. They have expanded their banquet facilities, and now have a small room and a larger one. I would say it's one of the nicer places to eat in Beaverton.

This public links has it all: large driving range, full selection club house, great golf course, and excellent restaurant. Why didn't I give it 5 stars? Because a public course like this has more than its fair share of Tiger-want-a-bes-but-definitely-aints. The course is well designed, with lots of water and sand and large greens; this is a course that you can play and enjoy the variety and also the challenge. If only those who need 8 warm ups before each shot would go to the Par-3 course.... Go early and beat the wanna-bes. And it's only $35 for 18 holes. Darn good price for a darn good course!

The course is fun and challenging. A great public course - well maintained, and a challenge for golfers of all levels. Back 9 is pretty hilly and has a lot of up and downs and water.Lessons here are excellent - state of the art facility, and will definately take a few strokes off your game, no matter your skill level.

Easy to work with, knowledgeable, professional instructors who can really improve your game. Course isn't too bad, not perfect; however, terrible customer service from the starter and another man today in the shop. Accused me of a "cardinal mistake": Starter went off on me about teeing off when it was WIDE OPEN, when the starter was scrambling to fit him in, and told him to go get his ball - ended up going with starter, which was a plus, but starter would not retrieve the ball alone, minus. Initially he said it would be fastest for me to join a threesome. Three ladies walked up to the tee taking FOREVER to get to the tee box, and it was wide open, so figuring that it would be okay because I paid for my golf I teed off. Big waste of time for me when I tried to follow the starter's directions and he insisted on arguing with me. Man in the shop who gave me my refund did not care to inquire about what went wrong, but the plus is he gave me my money back without yelling at me and arguing.

Playing at Red Tail golf course is nicely coupled with drinks and dining at the restaurant located at the same site. I have eaten there with others, attended a large wedding party and a New Year's Eve party, each of which was a pleasant dining experience. They also have a reasonably priced 'happy hour' and bar menu that is very affordable.

Easy to get on, I'm a bogey golfer on a good day and the course is kept in fairly good condition as far as I've ever been able to tell. The restaurant Stock Pot there is good for a drink and appetizer after a round. There's a full restaurant that looks very good too but haven't hit that yet.

I truly do. For a Municipal course I find it VERY well kept & a solid tough course,..not a cheaper gimiky short course like Broadmore, Colewood. And I think it's definitely a step up & tougher than East Moreland or Quail Run types of course.Many people bang on this course as either too crowded or to "tough" (greens). But I play this course 15+ times a year & love the challenge. Yes the greens are tough (sometimes really tough pin placements) and huge but that it feel like you're playing a course maybe just a step down from the Reserve or Langdon Farms,...for 1/2 the price!!You can always tailor the course to how you play. I usually play the whites at the beginning of the season where it plays a little easier, but the greens (which can be tough) balance that out,..& by May-ish I'm playing from the blues which can be a good test as my skills improve. They now have you tee off starting on the Back 9, which has improved the pace of play.My feeling is that this course is a good value & good challenge and is like the Reserve North Course Jr....
