its a burl

We drove by here in March during Spring Break and decided to go in. It was incredible. My 10-year-old son was entranced by the Swiss Family Robinson style treehouses that were all over the place. They were absolutely incredible to see. The products were really nice as well and the person who had built the place was truly friendly and made us feel at home. Everything is very well made and the quality is very high. Definitely someplace that we would like to return to.

First thing you might notice is the purple water in the large waterfall on the street side of these shops. Then you might notice all of the fabulous tree houses, most of which you are welcome to climb. It is a steep set of sets to the 2nd floors but well worth it. In the main shop you will be astounded by the assortment of things made of burl. They are available at all cost levels with the carved chairs on the pricey side. I got a lovely redwood heart which I immediately hung on my wall. You can get walking canes or long hiking sticks made from various woods like Madrone. The owner is wonderful to talk to. And make sure you observe the upper level of this shop because the workmanship is lively and lots of fun.

The place is much bigger than it looks from the road.They've got the expected array of furniture and ornaments made from burlwood. There is also a variety of raw burlwood material (much of it identified by tree species) available for sale if you want to do your own projects.

You really have to see this place to understand how incredible it is. The work that the various artists and craftsmen do is beyond description. If I had more money in my pocket, something would have gone home with me but it would have been hard to decide on just one thing. If you love wood and wood working, you HAVE to go to this place. (don't be put off by the strange purple blue foaming fountain out front)

A truly amazing compound of wood working, pottery and other hand made items! Do yourself a favor and stop in to view the handmade furniture of all shapes and sizes! What they do with burled wood is unbelievable! Chairs, benches, tables, bowls, mirrors, walking sticks, clocks, doors, and so much more! Every time I turned around there were 100 more things to see - whimsical, practical, beautiful! I can't say enough about this hidden gem!It's a Burl is right on Hwy 199 outside of Cave Junction. Just look for the tree houses on the side of the road! You can't miss it!

This place truly honors the local artist and its the best place to bring out of town guest to!

Beautiful art work at a wonderful price! Great people! Must stop and visit! Very few places like this left. Don't miss it!
