Hats off to the park people for doing a great job clearing up the snow. Please charge entrance fees during winter hours as well. The view from the ruin village is totally worth. Shut up and take my money!

Located just to the east (left) as one reaches the rim of Cater Lake, Rim Village consists of the Crater Lake Lodge and Dining Room, Rim Visitor Center hosting numerous ranger programs, Rim Village Café and Gift Shop that is very well stocked and the Sinnott Memorial Overlook. Despite an average of 44 feet (13.4m) of snow each winter, access to the Rim Village is maintained year-round but the facilities, with the exception of the Rim Village Café and Gift Shop which is open year-round, are generally closed from mid-October through mid-May. In addition to these facilities, there are excellent views of the lake, Wizard Island and most of the other notable landmarks; and is the departure point for the Crater Lake Trolley. While it is almost inevitable you will visit the Village during your time at Crater Lake, note that during the short summer high season, July and August, the Village is very busy from late morning through mid-afternoon and one may even have difficulty finding parking and experience traffic delays around lunch time.

The gift shop was one of the nicest I've seen. Lots to choose from and decent prices. I spent two hours in there. Clean bathrooms too was a bonus!

This is a good starting point, then head to the West Rim drive. The first view of the Lake will be memorable. Try to get down to the Sinnott Overlook, there are displays that explain about the region. Lots of parking and easy access walkways.

The Rim Village provides the typical NPS services (food, Lodge, Gift Shop, picnic area, etc). RECOMMEND: the crater rim trail from the Gift Shop to the Lodge is great for viewing the lake as well as being able to access a special viewing area on the rim. Rangers host many talks in this viewing platform. You may want to visit the Lodge too.

After visiting so many national park visitor centers, we expected this to be more upscale but with all the snow they get and the short summer they enjoy, it must be difficult to keep buildings maintained.

I love Rim Village. There is a snack shop with just about anything you'd like. Great coffee, too. Mostly, though, I love the gift shop. There are many books, regional artist's works, plus all of the other things you'd expect to see. . . post cards, collectibles, jewelry, t-shirts, and snacks.

This Village only has a large gift shop and café. that is it! I stopped at 61 characters but to do this review I need 100! It seems like the review is liked the "village"!

We stopped at the Lodge for Lunch and had about a 30 to 45 minute wait time, this was July 26th, 2014.It wasn't bad since you just go outside and they have a line of rocking chairs that overlook the lake and it is gorgeous. Not too shabby having a glass of wine on the rim of a volcano....lolLunch was average...wait staff wasn't as attentive as you would hope and it took several times asking for things but eventually we had everything and the food was good but nothing exceptional.Atmosphere was nice so it was a win win for us overall.

There were all sorts of things to look at here as well as a little cafe. We were able to find gifts for friends and family as well as a few trinkets for ourselves.The prices were reasonable and they were offering a blanket half off if you spent over $50.00 - it isn't hard to spend that much- so I got the blanket as well. The sales clerks were very helpful and friendly.

We visited in Mid May 2014. We couldn't believe all the snow there. They had some great souveniers at the Village store.

This was the closest place for any food and drink. The food in the small cafeteria in the gift shop was good, fresh, and quick. The gift shop was large and had a nice selection of souvenirs. The staff and rangers in the ranger station were knowledgeable and helpful. There is quite a long paved walkway from which to view Crater Lake.

Nice lodge and gift shop area. Great visitors center before you get to the village. The Discovery Trail starts at the Village. Lodge is located here. Good for relaxing in the lobby or porch.

There is a lodge/restaurant, a separate giftshop/cafe, a bookstore. Prices are high. Best bet, get an evening drink in the lodge and sit in a lounge chair overlooking the lake. This is heaven.

First, the good. The focal point of the Rim Village at Crater Lake National Park is the historic lodge, long a beautiful but crumbling edifice, now the restored pride of the National Park System. At least stop for a quick rock in the chairs on the veranda and a look at the historical display in the annex hall. The second must-see is the Sinnott Memorial Overlook, a small open-air building that seems to overhang the lake hundreds of feet below, but really doesn't. Nearby is a park service book store. What's gone is the campground, cabins, large parking lot right on the rim, and most of what used to be the large cafeteria, cocktail lounge and gift shop complex. The National Park Service has decreed that those types of things are inappropriate for the natural beauty of the rim and has moved them to Mazama Village several miles down the mountain. Personally, Rim Village feels a bit like a ghost town to us now, especially at night, and has produced overcrowding at the Lodge, the only real facility left.
