We were at a conference in Portland and I was charged with getting a great Oregon Pinot Noir for a dinner party. I'm a beer drinker so I have no idea . . .I stopped in the Rex and was met by friendly staff. Clean, nice place, easy to access. They explained it all to me but how was I to know. They had wine at several price points. They had great little "gift" bags for the bottles. When I brought this wine out my wine experts all congratulated me for getting such a great wine. And I thank the Rex staff for that . . .

I love Rex Hill Winery! I've visited many wineries in the area and have done many tastings. Rex Hill has consistently wonderful wines. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. The tasting room is very interesting with the old fruit drying tunnels. They host great events too. Make it a stop in your next winery tour. You won' be disappointed.

A larger winery and vineyard, we found the wines to be okay but the service was seriously lacking. We had just arrived at Rex Hill after visiting Blakeslee Vineyards. The personal, indulgent attention we received at Blakeslee might have elevated our expectations for Rex Hill where we felt like we were treated as an imposition by the server who was far more interested in reconciling his credit card receipts than in engaging with us. In fairness, we were insanely jealous of a bridal party who had another server who was engaging, informative, and entertaining. But, alas, he was not our server. So for OUR experience, the Rex Hill Winery was a dud and we won't go back when there are so many other options in the area.

We had a great experience touring the vineyards at Rex Hill. Carrie K was extremely knowledgeable not only about the vines, but is also a trained Somm. She was able to make our tasting most informative. Put Rex Hill on your list and ask for Carrie.

On the way back from McMinnville we stopped at Rex Hill. Unlike some of the Willamette wineries this one actually has the tasting room at the winery so you get a sense for the overall process when you pull up. The view from the parking lot is pretty spectacular. The tasting room is in the old fruit drying tunnels so the atmosphere is cozy. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wine and the process especially about the various lots where the grapes were grown. We were able to taste 5 wines for $10 which was great value considering the quality of the wine. Came away with a bottle or 2......

Rex Hill Winery is located on 99W in the town of Newberg, Oregon. All the wineries have BLUE signs along the road way. I don't know how one drinks and drives if they stop at all the wineries in Willamette Valley. I think you almost have to stay for a few days or take a tour bus so you can drink and some one drives who did not drink. Rex Hill Winery served some excellent wines that you will enjoy

This winery is located on the 99 before you get to Newberg driving from Portland. It is a higher end winery with a big production facility. The tasting room is very well done and you can sample four wines for $10. The pinots were good but I found their price point a bit high compared to other wineries in the region.

This was our first stop in our last wine-pickup trip to the valley. I'm almost embarrassed to say we were drawn by the fact they own the A-to-Z wine brand, quite popular in Seattle. However, I am happy to report I now understand the vast difference between them! Rex Hill is now among our favorite Oregon labels, and we learned a lot from this visit. In addition to the tasting, we actually got a few suggestions for other wineries and things to do; particularly the suggestions for wineries turned out to be outstanding, so we are very grateful for them. Next time, we'll try to schedule a vineyard tour here, which judging by the comments is an amazing experience.

I have toured vineyards in a number of States and this was a homerun. I was there during the harvest so that always adds a neat dynamic. However when you are eating Pinot Noir grapes right out of the bin it is a good day. The staff are very knowledgable and very good Ambassadors of Oregon Wine. The Sommelier/Chef Mike was excellent for his insight and treat for his humor. I am convinced no trip to the Oregon wine country would be complete without a stop here.

Rex Hill was one of the first premier wineries in our area. The location is breathtaking, the wine consistent, and the people are charming. Best thing to do while wine tasting is to buy cases of a new or old favorite.

We enjoyed our tastings here! Everyone was friendly. The vineyard is beautiful as is the building! This was one of our vouchers from our hotel package. I would highly recommend this winery!

Was very impressed by the knowledgeable staff and their wine was awesome. This was on our second day of visiting the Oregon Wine Country, we were slightly disappointed in our experiences the first day but Rex Hill made up for any disappointment we may have had.

Rex Hill is one of my favorite wineries close to home. The tasting room is lovely and warm with a great experience for learning about how our wines are made in Oregon. The staff are very helpful and nice. Being a member of the wine club is a bonus as Mike, their on staff chef is great at teaching pairings and offers the food pairings at events throughout the year. Also, barrel tasting is a great way to learn about the different stages of wine making and is offered at most events. There is plenty of parking, nice bathrooms and you can wander the vineyards with one of the managers or on your own. They also have a lovely picnic area for summer events or for just relaxing in our lovely Oregon wine country.

I can't wait to go back to Portland so I can visit more wineries in the summer when you can see how beautiful they are! Luckily, one that I was able to visit was Rex Hill and it will go back on the list anytime I head back to Portland. The wine was great, the people were helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. If you are putting together your own wine tour route, make sure that Rex Hill is on the list.

Rex Hill is a fun place to visit. Good wine, nice people, a little history and a little education all combine to make a good beginning to a day trip from Portland. I especially like the "essence table". It has glasses which each have a different essence commonly found in wine (leather, vanilla, coffee, etc.). You can try a wine at the tasting counter then use the essences to identify it. It's fun.
