You can't visit Vegas without taking a trip to see one of the most iconic signs in the world!A short taxi ride from the cosmopolitan hotel or a half an hour walk. There is a guy there that will take photos for you and you can flip him a dollar if you wish.

Every single store in Las Vegas has the sign on either a mug, key chain, calendar, poster etc...I'm pretty sure everyone has seen this sign either on TV or at the movies but it's not really what I was expecting.Right off the bat, it's a long drive from the strip, especially if you're staying far from the Tropicana/Excalibur etc...To get there, drive towards the Las Vegas Premium Outlets South, past McCarran International Airport. There's parking onsite but impossible to park during the weekend, so try a weekday, the earlier the better. It's smaller than what I imagined, hard to get a decent pic with people all around, not worth getting a taxi to and definately not worth walking to.

I walked from The Excalibur hotel instead of take the bus or hire a taxi. This meant the queues were lighter so I didn't have to wait long. There are guys there available to take your picture for you for a small 1-2 dollar tip.

We walked from Excalibur straight to the sign. It was about 25 minutes at a leisurely pace. A small price to pay for some "classic Vegas" photos.Whether you wait in line or decide to stand off to the side to take pictures, you're guaranteed a great shot. Don't forget to get some shots with the other side of the sign too.

This icon in Vegas is an excellent spot for a memorable photo. You may have to wait a bit with all the people having the same idea as you but it's worth it!I personally like my photo I got as the sun was setting, almost a photo showing best of both worlds ;)

This is a must photo stop if you are in Vegas. There is parking space for around 12-15 cars and 2-3 buses. If the parking lot is full, just wait for few minutes, some party will come to take out their car after getting their photos clicked the sign.

Made the mistake of trying to walk to the sign mid-afternoon and failed.Tried again one morning when it was a bit cooler and much easier. You do have to cross a busy road, so be careful!A queue is formed and a person is there to take photos, very quick turn around but a MUST SEE!

This sign is pass Mandalay Bay. There is a small parking lot for you to park. If you are walking be prepared for the long trek.

This trip to Vegas was my first and the number one attraction I wanted to visit was the famous sign. It didn't disappoint. Luckily there is a newer small parking lot and it is nicely landscaped for awesome pictures. It is free parking and free to take your picture. There was a really nice man with a microphone that takes pictures for tips/donations and he is so friendly and helps keep the tourists from running amuck. It is a fast stop. You simply park, wait your turn in a short moving line, get your picture taken and move on. I did see people walk out to the sign but for safety reasons (sign is on a busy highway) I'd suggest driving. It is located just on the outskirts of the main stripe so it is very close. One of my favourite souvenirs of the trip is my picture.

The Welcome to Vegas sign is located right at the end off the strip the airport end.We caught the bus which comes ever 10 minutes. The bus travels up and down the strip we payed $8.50 for 24hrs unlimited bus travel. We got off the bus at the last stop near Mandalay bay and walked the 15 minutes. When we arrived there was at least 100 people in line to take a photo directly in front of the sign. As we did not want to wait an hour , we stood to the side of the sign and took some great selfies which got the entire sign in perfectly. What I loved is that I saw an iconic sign and it was a free and a fun experience I will always remember.

To get your picture taken, you stand in line for 5 to 10 minutes. There is someone there always who volunteers to take your picture(s) with your camera or phone for tips. Call someone on your cell phone so they can get on earth Google cams and have them pick the Las Vegas sign live cam. They can see you live and you can wave to them. The camera is southwest of the sign so face that direction. It was extra fun to do that with family and friends when we were there. The only bad thing is we took the bus and it doesn't go that far so we had to walk down there and back. Our feet hurt, but well worth the fun!

Your in Vegas so this is a must see. Parking is limited but people rotate quickly and with in a minute we got a space. Their is a guy there that will take you pictures for a little tip. If you want to save money ask someone in the que but we used him and he took great snaps well worth the 2 dollars.

not a far walk from the Mandalay Bay ....someone was there to help with pictures....you can take the train to MGM Grand and walk from there..

Going to the iconic Welcome to Las Vegas sign is nearly as important as visiting the casino! The location is currently under renovation building additional parking spots and making it more accessible to get that photo op. Chances are you'll have a line of people waiting to do the same thing you're there to do but be patient and you'll be rewarded with a great keepsake that's actually free unlike everything else here!A private photographer was there to take your photos using your own camera and phone at no cost other than a donation if you wanted, but no pressure and he gets the shot just right...so be sure to tip him :-)

So, you would think that they would make it easy for you to get to the sign to take pics, but you would be wrong. Most times, you will be forced to cross that busy part of the strip which is directly across from the airport. There is no pedestrian cross way. You have to navigate through the traffic. You could get a ticket for jaywalking, so be careful. The sign itself is very nice. The only negative is that there are some wires that hang behind the sign and they are always in the picture. People are polite and create a line to go up and take pics. Be prepared to be asked to take a picture for someone else and don't be afraid to ask someone to do the same. There are no concerns of crime in the area around the sign. It is quite remote and there is usually only tourists in that area.
