pour house tasting room

I love this little tasting room! They have a nice selection of wines to try and it is located in an old hardware store with original floor and storage bins giving it a very nice ambiance. They have a limited menu but the food is fantastic. It is a wonderful place to spend a quiet evening with a date or with friends. Highly recommend it, the atmosphere is wonderful!!!

We went to hear a speaker that spoke about Czech agriculture and immigration. It was a very nice venue to visit to hear a public speaker. Chairs were comfortable and the room was big enough to accommodate 100+ people. Great restoration of an historical building.

We journeyed out to Friend as part of our 2013 Nebraska Passport tour. This attraction is worth the jaunt off of the Interstate. They feature a wide selection of wines and beers but it is not a bar, ergo the tasting room moniker. We didn't include a meal in our trip today but they have a nice menu and the kitchen is where you are most apt to find the owner. We have 'added' Pour House to our short list of places to cool off with a nice libation on any drive west of Lincoln. Today we enjoyed the Shillinbridge Scottish Ale (see my previous review on Shillingbridge in Pawnee City, home of Larry the Cable Guy, Dan Whitney) and it was as smooth as ever. Can't wait until they start carrying Blue Blood, as well. Pour House is located in the old hardware store and has been restored to its wonderful glory, complete with intricate woodwork and tin roof. They have complemented the decor in a most excellent manner with the wine bar and wine storage areas. A large family would be sure to enjoy the view from the big table on the landing loft above the bar. There is a TV BUT it only powers up for Nebraska football games. Otherwise, it stays silent as music plays to help soothe your senses. This is not your mother's wine bar; check it out!

We have been here several times. Enjoyed the wine tasting. Appetizers were excellent. Really enjoyed our experience at the murder mystery. Interesting building - old hardware store. Nice to see something like this in a small town. Can't wait to go again.
