benicia certified farmers market

This is a great farmers market as it is a community function. Great vendors, great music is abundant. People make this a afternoon/evening of it. Great family atmosphere!

We were so glad we showed up on a Thursday in October... nice organic produce sold by nice folks and delicious prepared foods. Musician on the keyboard added a fun element!

Open every Thursday from April to November from 4:30 - 8pm. Benicia farmer's Market has been sparsely attended in the past and sometimes the produce hasn't been all that exciting but lately things have really changed for the better. Bring a hat and shades since that incredible sunset blasting in from the west through the Carquinez Straights can be killer bright on clear days. And don't forget a jacket to guard against that Benicia wind. If you stroll thru after 6 pm the vendors start marking everything down and you'll get some real bargains on things like tomatoes and strawberries. Plenty of food too from BBQ chicken to Hawaiian plate lunches and you'll enjoy live jazz and folk music as you shop. On nice evenings the local restaurants and wine bars have outdoor seating and you can enjoy a nice dinner as the vendors wrap things up on the street.

The market is just a simple average market. We bought some better than average produce. A few art, and home made vendors. Its pretty small, but nice. And be sure to take a drive out to the water. Sunset is beautiful there. Worth going, but i forgot what night it is, i think it was Thursday. Alot of history in the town.
