This place has been in Castro Valley for ever. There are 2 mini golf courses. They are clean and well maintained. If mini-golf is your thing, this is one of the better ones around.
We like to go here for the miniature golf and sometimes the game room. It can get crowded on nice days but don't hesitate to ask if you can plat through if you get a big group in front of you. The staff has been friendly when we have had questions. There are water/soda vending machines outside but no real concessions on site. There are plenty of fast food choices nearby that you can stop at before going though.
Yes - it's a fantastic place to take your kids if you like to see them frustrated, crying, squirming through one unsuccessful put put after another. The course lacks imaginative flair visually, and some of the holes are nearly impossible to conquer. Most of them are mostly impossible. My kids who are 6 and 9 were quite frustrated. I was frustrated. Every hole seemed to be situated on the tiniest little hill so that however close you got, the ball would roll away. The course was just really hard - unnecessarily hard considering this is where people take their children to have fun. Even the group of adults in front of us were unsuccessful. We were all unhappy mini-golf losers. To top it off, the course is situated between the freeway and a Blvd. The traffic noise is loud, sirens went off a couple of times during the hour we were there. It was really not a nice place. I went because all the reviewers said it was so nice. No. I'm here to tell you, it was not a nice place. Afterwards we went to McDonald's across the street and for $4 we got Sundae's and the kids played in the play area for an hour. Happy as can be. That would have saved me $23 if I had just skipped the golfing and gone there. Overall, I think the course is old, outdated and ridiculously difficult.
Golden Tee has always been a high-quality mini-golf venue (at least as far back as the 1960s). It is very clean and well-maintained with an arcade and picnic tables (as mentioned by other reviewers). The glass-enclosed area, that once contained large stuffed bears, is now used for a reservable party room. This is fun, reasonably-priced entertainment that far outclasses many other peewee golf places.
This can be a great place to bring your kids or grand-kids for a few hours of fun. They have 36 holes. The grounds are well kept and clean. They also have a video arcade and some picnic tables to eat your lunch.
This is a very well-maintained, safe, and friendly place. Prices are reasonable, and not too crowded for a Sunday afternoon!
One of the better peewee golf courses in the area. You can do either 9 or 18 holes. There are 2 courses. A great place to bring your kids. It is well maintained but could use a little sprucing up just due to its age. Ample parking, however since it is located on one of the main streets in Castro Valley hold on to the little ones when in the lot. There is also an indoor arcade.
This was a beautifully maintained and clean mini golf course. We had a great time there with our small kids.
Golden Tee gives us a nice break from sightseeing in the Bay Area . 18 holes is probably enough for most people , but with a second round only being an extra 3 bucks we usually play 36 . There are two separate courses so we don't have to repeat the same holes we just played . Unlike many other mini golf courses this one is always clean and in great shape . The employees have always been friendly . We usually golf under the lights when it is warm enough and after most other family attractions are closed for the evening .
Always a great family or date event. Staff very helpful and fun. Coupons often available. Pricey for the outing!
Nice little mini-golf spot tucked away in the middle of town. Staff is super friendly and will sometimes give you extra tokens for the arcades. The golf course is well kept and somewhat fun but nothing special. The real value is the price. For under $15 bucks per person, you can get a round of mini-golf plus several dozen game tokens to occupy 3-4 hours of your family's time on the weekend.Would like to see them add more challenging obstacles to the course and update the arcade selections (some of which are 10+ year old games).
two circuits of 18 holes with windmills, pagodas, water crossings, and raised holes, ski ball like holed, metal rings , prices very reasonable and after your game have a chance of winning a free game. the kids had great fun good side trip if you have a car
