I didn't choose to drive myself because I wanted to experience the highest speed possible so I was a passenger with a pro. Jim told me we reached 165 mph. I've personally never driven over 120 mph. It was fantastic!! The staff was great. They seem to enjoy their jobs at the track and that makes the customers feel right at home. I loved it and would like to do it again at another track.
I gave the 8 lap " drive your own Stock Car " to my husband as a Birthday and anniversary gift. He loved it ! The team there is super professional and the entire experience went over without a problem at all. Hubby loved it and I will have to do it now ! Can't wait !!
I bought a groupon or buy with me special for the 5 min. experience for my husband for Father's Day. When I booked it online, I decided to upgrade it to the more popular 8 min. ride, and I am glad that I did. I also added on the 5x7/T-shirt combo. It ended up being a pricey gift, but he absolutely loved it, and all his friends were so jealous! We made a weekend of it and stopped at Bass Pro Shop on the way up and spent the day before at Glen Ivy hot springs.Main problem: After I booked it, and had it confirmed, I booked the Hilton Garden Inn Fontana online with a no refund/no change rate. Then the RP driving experience called, and said that their website wasn't updated, so they had to change our date. Only compensation added was a t-shirt (which we didn't end up getting) I had Friday, but they said I could have Sunday or Monday. I wanted Sat, so that I wouldn't have to add on a room. I took Sunday and added on a room night and figured it would be a long romantic weekend. Well, I didn't look at the fine print on the ticket when I printed out the email. It turns out that when we were getting our stuff together Sat night that my husband noticed the ticket was for SATURDAY MORNING! (the print is really small, and I really should have double checked.) I was in tears! We went the next morning and they said we were technically a no-show, and he could go to the class, and if there were any no shows, they could fit him in. They were nice about it, but it was very upsetting to me. It turned out he did get to drive, and he absolutely loved it, so that made it all worth while. Take your camera and get lots of pics. They wear a racing suit, and helmet, and it was funny watching him get in and out of the car, they have to actually take the steering wheel off and on! After he got in his car, I went up to the terrace suites and took video of him going around the track. The track is huge. It seemed like he only when around maybe 6 or 7 laps. It sure went fast! His top speed was 153 mph and they give you a nice certificate. I wouldn't buy the photo packages, they just take a pic of you in front of a car that's roped off. I got better pictures on my own.Definitely a winner for the man in your life.OH, by the way, you need to know how to drive a stick shift to drive! I couldn't believe that some people signed up who didn't know how to use a clutch. They will actually teach you first if you need it, but could you imagine learning how to drive a stick on a racecar? When you only get 5-8 min to drive???
For car/speed lovers, this is a perfect experience. You get to drive at high speeds (150MPH) in a safe environment in a 650 HP NASCAR vehicle. They have different packages. We did the king's experience, which is 18 laps on the 2 mile racetrack. They are well organized. The session starts with an education session around safety and overview of the car. Then pictures, followed by the track. This is a "follow" the leader format, where a pro leads you on the track, and you need to be 3 car lengths behind. I'd you do well, the pro will open up.Expensive, but recommended
