Lake Siskiyou is a gorgeous, quiet spot near Mt Shasta, CA. Boat rentals, wild trout fishing, hiking and scenic beauty. There are not too many places on the planet that compare! Many natural lakes with easy access nearby. One of the greatest golf courses in the north state within walking distance! A place you don't want to miss out on!
This is a great lake to fish for trout. Heavily stocked you can park usually super close to shore. Its also a great place to take easy hikes to go for a swim or just sit back around sunset and watch bald eagles catch fish. I love this spot
It's quiet solemn. Not the prettiest lake I have seen, but adequate. You can see Mt. Shasta from the blue bridge. That is a nice view.
After dinner, I took the short drive from Mount Shasta city to Lake Siskiyou. Lake Siskiyou is a pretty large lake in the area with fishing, boating, swimming, and other water play opportunities. There are various campgrounds and lodging around the lake.Lake Siskiyou is technically a reservoir. There are forested areas around the lake. One can also find places to picnic.
Beautiful area. The Rec room could be rented for a very reasonable price. Seats 50. Lake offers hiking, camping, boating, fishing, and picnicking.
We did not stay at the lake, but reserved the group "party" building for the day. It was large, clean and well appointed. The view of the lake is good and it is a brief walk to the water. Lake Siskiyou is not a natural lake but rather part of flood and water control. The level was down when we were there, but not nearly as far as other lakes in the area. They have a store, dock and rentals. The cost of the camping and housing units varies widely at the resort. The best cabins are large but not cheap. It is a pleasant place which a million dollar view of Mount Shasta.
My wife and I stopped here while on vacation because it was 100 degrees out and we wanted to take a dip. Perfect choice! Not far off the Hwy 5 which was convenient since we were on our way home. I think it was one dollar for entry with car which is outstanding. Walked down to the lake and there were alot of kids playing on gigantic blow up water towers. Some were over 15 ft high. We didn't have those when I was a kid. We decided to walk along the shore to find a quite spot which we was no problem. I think the view from the lake is one of the best I have ever had. Good find.
Very narrow road -- got very lost! Access to lake was not very well marked! Visitors Center information was not at all helpful.
This was my first trip to Lake Siskiyou and spent several days here. It was so relaxing. Plenty of hiking, fishing, fly fishing or relaxing by the river with a book. Very romantic if you want to share it with someone.
Rented two double kayaks for the afternoon and enjoyed the view of Mount Shasta and the serenity of the lake. Early in the season so we were just about the only people out enjoying this beautiful spot. Kayaks truly could be update, one had a leak, so pretty wet at the end of the paddle. All in all an enjoyable spot, and not very expensive.
This lake makes a beautiful front drop to Mt. Shasta. On a calm, clear day, the mountain is reflected perfectly in the lake, making a gorgeous picture. The lake itself is clean and usually clear, but also usually quite chilly. The beach area is pretty well tended and there are places to rent canoes, paddle boards, motor boats and beach chairs. We come here every time we are in the area.
A beautiful lake in a gorgeous setting. Fishing, swimming or laying on the beach with an incredible view of Mt Shasta... wonderful!
After visiting mt Shasta abbey, me and my aunt rented a boat and have a very good day with the beautiful scene!
I loved the lake and the rentals. prices were great and the customer service was exceptional. We rented the paddle boards for two days and the boys had soooo much fun
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 mile hike around Lake Siskiyou. I was especially proud of our two young kids for completing the loop around the Lake. We started at the parking lot off the WA Barr Road just before the Mount Shasta Resort parking lot and hiked around the Lake. It was a very easy trail with no elevation, and more importantly, it hugs around the lake for the most part, and one could not ask for a more beautiful view of the lake and of Mount Shasta looming over the lake. Because we were a bit short of time, we chose not to venture into the side trail just after the camp ground that would lead to a beach. We saw the beach from the other side a little later in our hike. It looked very nice, and you would enjoy a very nice view of Mount Shasta from there. So I'd suggest not to skip it if time permits. A great trail not to be missed.
