If you like to hike trails, play in the park, or just need to get some fresh air this is the place to go. there are so many lovely places you can go in the park. This is where they have cross country meets and other competitions.
I had seen some of the reviews so I drove 10 miles from where I'm staying near the beach to have a different place to walk my dog. I drove in and paid the $3 parking fee (didn't know I could just park on the road for free). I looked around and there didn't really seem to be any trails so I drove out onto the road and went in search of some trails. I quickly hit residential areas so went back to the parking area. I spoke to an employee who gave me a map. I took a little loop around the "lake" and it was so unimpressive that when I got back to the parking lot, I decided to bale out of there. There is absolutely nothing special about this park. I suppose if you live out there or are staying out there, it is open space, but DEFINITELY do not go out of your way to visit this place!
This would be a really nice place to camp, but there are only 33 camping spaces, and it is likely hard to get a reservation in the summer. The park is lush and beautiful, and very well maintained. The longest trail is 4 miles, circumnavigating the park and it's two lakes. Bring food for the many ducks. There are often large geese in the main lake. They were so tame they ate bread out of our hands. It costs $30 a night to camp, and $3 per car to get in. If you want to park in the nearby neighborhoods, you can enter the park for free.
This place is a great spot for a day time picnic or a pick up game of futbol. Family friendly park....but be wise to stay away at night.
My family and I had a really fun time here... People come to picnic, bike ride, trail walking, camping, or just come and sit and enjoy the nature!!!!
First thing in the morning, this is a nice place for a run. The trails are in good shape and offer some nice views. The scent of wild fennel can be intoxicating.
We just happened upon this gem of a park on our way to the coast. We're birders, and it was getting on to lunchtime, so we stopped for a bite to eat and a stroll around the grounds. Looks like a nice spot for camping too.
We arrived to camp just after a winter rainfall. The eucalyptus aroma mixed with flowers was heavenly! Many native plants to explore and enjoy. Hummingbirds by the hundreds in the trees covered with hot pink flowers.
Guajome Park is a quaint small park with a little lake in the center. It is a real peaceful place to picnic, take a stroll, bike ride and they even offer camping. If you are looking for a nice, somewhat quiet and picturesque park to take some leisure time, this is the place for you. If you are looking for something with more action, then I would go somewhere larger. This park is definietely suited to those looking for a nice view and some peace and quiet.
Took my 9 year old grand daughter for a 3 mile ride around the lake. Easy ride and lots of flora and fauna. There is a playground and a campsite. Nice restroom and shower facilities.
Good trails but not much else. Some RV and camping sights. An old adobe house. Might be a place to stop after the Mission and Heritage Park
Lovely little camping park. On day two of four w we came back from the beach all sandy and salty only to find the bathrooms and showers locked up. Portable toilets were provided. Disappointed because we paid for a campground with toilets and showers. We left a day early b because o of this and they refunded my money for the day we left early. They were painting the bathrooms and showers. But, can't they do that in off season and warn campers before they arrive. We can't from out of state and all state parks were full so we did not have much choice by this time.
Local park. Trails to walk, clean restrooms, minimal camping, wildlife (ducks, geese, squirrels) and a lake. Relaxing.
This is our second stay here in two years while visiting the GK's and again was a very pleasent one. The sites are well laid out and level and they have 30 amp and water h/u's ,but only a dump site that is very easy to access. The folks that are taking care of the place are very friendly. We will stay here again probably.
It's a good place for a short camping trip. Decent camp sites, good bike trails, generally safe area and have fun fire place areas. Very cheap and affordable, especially if you book early in advance. If you like biking, camp fires and being only 10 minutes driving distance away from the beach - this is a good and affordable place. I go here twice a year for almost 9 years.
