Really nice experience for our family that includes children ages 10-6. Not tons of activities for kids per se (just a few PC based flight simulators) but tons of aircraft and informational displays. Always love to see the amazing SR-71!

We took our son's to this museum, and had a great time. Lots of parking, and lots of planes to look at. We took our time viewing the planes. My husband was able to tell us about each of the planes. Learned a lot from him, however, there are docents there that will tell you about them as well. Great place to visit, and easy to get to.

My 14 year old son and I stopped off here on a very rainy day. It was cold and windy so we took refuge inside the museum. But we really wanted to see the planes, so we braved the elements and paid for the 30 minute tram ride. Despite the wind and rain we had a very good time. The docent was very well versed on the planes and their history. Being right next to the base, we got to see a tanker land. Very impressive. There were several planes inside and educational displays. They even had an area for smaller children to touch and try on uniforms. We thought it was definitely worth it.

I went here with my husband after getting a Groupon. They have some really cool-looking old planes and the tram tour is pretty cool. But, if you don't know much about planes, there's not much appeal. The interior museum is a bit dingy and outdated feeling. I don't think this is a place that I would choose to bring out-of-town friends though.

It is not pretty but neither is war. Good to see some great planes on display. It was a long time ago I actually was on the grounds but would like to go again someday.

The aviation, space and military history on display is fantastic. They've redone a lot of the exhibits. Walking their flight line givesvyou an up close and personal trip back through military aviation history.

If like military planes and history this a great place to spend 2 - 3 hours. Be sure to check out the SR - 71 blackbird in the main hangar. There are also lots of military planes displayed outside. The museum is right by March Air Force base, which is fairly busy with tankers and cargo planes coming and going. Occasionally, the fighter jets go too. You get an air show bonus, with your museum ticket.

Worth a little drive out to see the planes and the museum as displayed here. It is very well done and we spend half a day meandering through the exhibits and videos and walking around the planes. Way to go March!

There are new planes and many new exhibits since we were here several years ago. they now have an exhibit Room with Air force uniforms and accessories dating back to WWI as well as a room dedicated to the Space program. You can do a self-guided tour or a tram tour with a docent. Some of our favorites are the newer jets, the B52, Starlight (the huge transport) and Blackbird SR71. It is all done by volunteers and donations and very impressive.

The Museum is at the March Air Force base, but a US Military ID is not required to enter the Museum. The cost is $10.00 USD, with no discounts offered. The Museum contains a variety of aircraft, the ones at the Vietnam exhibit were especially meaningful to me.Be sure to chat with the person on duty located across from the cashier, they have a ton of stories to tell.

We went to March AFB for a car show on the grounds. We ended up walking the museum grounds for a few hours. We got to see up close a number of vintage aircraft we had never seen in person before. B-17, 29 and 52 bombers. KC-97, SR-71, Nigs and Phantoms. LOTS of planes that you can walk around and under. First time ever for me inside a B-29 bomb bay......cool. We were there in Winter......summer may be a different story!! Worth the $10 easy.

Most of the planes are outside and there is a concrete walkway that allows wheelchair access to view most of the aircraft up close. Jet engine row is great, with a cut-away view of one engine. All planes have an information plaque in front of them. Inside the main hanger there's a lot of different exhibits, Military uniforms from different countries, and a small mock up of Mission Control with Space information. There is a mock up of the cockpit and nose of a B-47. You can see the limited space they had. In a dirt area outside they have several helicopters to look at in a mock helo base. It's very interesting for anyone that likes or appreciates aircraft and flying. Allow 2-3 hours to walk around, they have a tram ride and the operator tells you about the aircraft, it is well worth the small fee. As always they have a small gift shop, most prices are reasonable and there is a wide variety of items. Some items are offered that covers all branches of Military Service.

The number of planes at The March Field Air Museum is amazing. Aircraft and other military items from the last 100+ years. The main hanger has some very well presented displays and mockups of plane interiors and when you walk out to the outside displays, the diversity of planes is almost overwhelming. It is worth multiple visits if you can because it's hard to take them all in at one time. The P-38 National Association is also on the grounds of the museum, but only open on the weekends, so try for Saturday or Sunday if you can. Good for kids.

I have seen many museums and this is a very good one, a variety of aircraft that doesn't just focus on one era or military service. Great family experience

March field was one the air field General Robin Old (WW2 Ace and Viet Nam Ace) flew out of in the 1950's after WW2, and married Ella Raines, the movie star. They have a wonderful SR-71 Blackbird to design of the great Kelly Johnson. A great collection of WW2 flight jackets. Also a lot of exhibits you can interact with. The flight line has a Beautiful B 17 G; B 52 bomber and the DC-3 . There are also a collection of jets from the Korea conflict time frame . And also several helicopters.
