We have enjoyed this drive in for a few years now. We have made a tradition of going on Christmas, and the crowd is very small and the familys who come are very nice. We bring blankets, hot tea and snacks and an EXTERNAL radio, since the Drive in uses the radio station locally. We had to get our car 'jumped' the first time, and have been on a search on how to sit in the truck and not wear down the battery. We found a 'radio' that is blue tooth at Big Lots in CA for $55.00 and it has been a joy. It can be used for 6-8 hours with one charge. This is more about the radio and getting your battery to keep its life. :) It is a great evening out !

One of the last great ones! bring your outdoor chairs and relax under the starts and enjoy the fun of movies outside! All though most don't follow the etiquette for a drive in (parking lights on during movie), its a great time. They have great food for sale (Mexican) but it can get pricey. You can pick up your own pizza and drinks to enjoy. Worth making plans to experience or even return to enjoy!

We took our daughter and granddaughters, who were visiting from CO, to the Van Buren Drive-In July 2014 for "a memorable family experience". We had taken our son and daughter to the drive-in when they were young and they loved it...as did our granddaughters. You have to bring your own radio to tune in to the sound (no more speakers to hang in your car window). Girls sat in the back of our SUV with the hatch open. Wonderful experience for us all on a warm summer night.

For those that grew up with drive-ins Van Buren is, I'm sure, just another example. For those that didn't it's a thrill. Not one that many tourists will ever get a chance to experience because, let's be honest, very few of your average visitors will find themselves in this part of the world.Go if you do, though. It's a great experience. We were staying at the Wigwam Motel in Rialto and didn't find the drive to Van Buren too bothersome.

Has that great outdoors feel I grew up with. My children love it. Going there again tonight. We like to set up the chairs with the blankets and just watch the movie(s) under the stars.

My hubby and I wanted to take our son to his first drive-in movie. Neither of us had been to one since we were kids ourselves. The drive-in seemed just like we remember them being. However we were surprised to learn they only accept cash. We had to leave, go to the grocery store to use the ATM and then wait in line again. Once we were settled everything was fine....sound and picture were just as they should be.We got upset at the people who were standing outside their cars smoking. They were blocking our view and were really inconsiderate. I'm not a confrontational person so I just had to wait in frustration until they got back in their car. There also seemed to be people constantly walking back and forth past our car on their way to/from the snack bar. That got real annoying. We left there thinking that we had at least experienced it again as adults and got to show our son what a drive-in theater was like, but we most likely will not go back. It's not because of any problems with the theater itself. It's just we really didn't like all the people wandering around.

Neither me or my wife (we're old, 70, 71)haden't been to the drive-in theatre in Lord who knows how long - like the 60's. We got this hair-brained idea to try the Van Buren Drive-in. I thought about sneaking some friends in the trunk like we used to do but dropped the idea due to lack of interest. lolWe brought our own 'goodies' so did not visit the snack bar. Was a neat experience but not as cool as when we were kids. Think we'll leave it to the younger crowd.

Loved taking my girls here to experience a drive in theater. The price is right and we stayed and watched the first movie again. Loved being outside. Only complaint is they definately need more bathrooms. The line between movies was too long.

It's a Drive In so what more can I say. It's great way to go to the movies with a group of friends and do something different. You get to watch two movies for less than what one movie ticket would cost in the theatre. Grab some beers and some popcorns with some friends and you are set.

I have been going to this drive-in since high school (1999) and it has been my favorite way to see movies since. I used to go with friends and girlfriends, and have been going with my wife for years (we live in corona). It is now $8 per person, but it is still completely worth it.The grounds are clean and navigable, the concession stand is amazing (yes there are long lines most of the time). If you dont want to wait in line, bring your own food, it is fun to be able to eat burgers or tacos or pizza or whatever during a movie. Definitely get there early is you're going on the weekend, like an hour at least. The weeknights are not so bad and we arrive maybe a half-hour before the show. I love being able to see two movies for the price of one and have fallen asleep more than once only to awaken during the third showing. Its a fantastic place to be with friends and family and we will continue going at least once a month.

I've been coming to this theater since I was a little girl and I love the opportunity to share it with my family. This theater has had some upgrades and they are much appreciated. The sound comes from your car stereo and the screen is clear. The Snack Bar has had an overhaul and looks nice and is clean. The restrooms aren't perfect, but they aren't gross either, good 'nuff. The playground is gone :( But you really can't beat $7 bucks for TWO current movies. *What to bring: Bring your favorite snacks, anything you like, (FYI) there is a grocery store and a McDonalds at the shopping center right next door. Bring a comfortable chair, one of those neck travel pillows doesn't hurt, BLANKETS, (trust me) and a radio or boombox if you have it, will make it so that you can shut the car/truck doors if you want to and still have nice clear audio. A nice igloo serves as a great ottoman. Chairs are far more comfortable than trying to cozy up on the truck bed, which looks like a good idea but its AWFUL! Downsides, people will leave their lights on, *boo!*People who smoke, they smoke. Hate that. The lot is near operating train tracks and one or two may come by, even on weekends. But other than that, a great experience that doesn't require you to take out a loan for the family to see a movie, bring your comfy chairs, and enjoy the view!

Great place & price for two just released movies! The best for those small children PG movies--You really just have to plan a little before you get here, like when dusk is!! Get there early to check out the spots for the playgraound, snack bar & restrooms. Pack all your own popcorn or healthy snacks, pillow, blankets, lounge chairs & you are good to go! The other requirement is a half-way decent speaker system in your car & a battery that won't die if you let it run for 2 hours--Add Smiles!!!

I love that there is still a drive-in, let alone one that has GREAT food. Not just popcorn and candy, real food! The lines weren't too crazy (we did get there early). More than reasonable for a family outing, we had a blast on date-night at the drive-in.
