此地方的风景优美,气候宜人,加上还有一大片的海洋,真是令人想在此常住!!!除了上述的特点外,此地的海鲜餐厅选择多,如有喜欢吃海鲜的朋友,可以来此处玩!
A bird sanctuary indeed, where they can all be free and wild. Great surf spot as well. A must see when you're in the area. Mighy as well hop on a boat and watch friendly whales, dolphins, otters, and sea lions.
Beautiful sight. We have not been here for a long while but will return soon. Not many places like this!
We always have to visit Morro Rock when we go to Morro Bay. It has the most awesome tide pools where you can view a variety of sea life including life star fish, sand crabs, sea anenome (sp) and so much more. Also, on the opposite side you can park and watch the surfers and feed the tame squirrels... if you are brave enough.....LOL
sticks out of the landscape in front of a 3 chimney power station. It did draw us in to he town where we saw 10 sea otters and some cubs poodling about in the harbour sunbathing for hours. Fantastic entertainment.
Nice walking trail! If you make it to the front side of the Rock, there is a beach. Some of the area was under repair but the trail is beautiful as you are near the water. Can walk around the Rock to the local beach, no driving. There are postings: Do Not Climb the Rock!! So no rock climbers! But walkers will enjoy the view!
very quiet visit during new year and the weather was perfect. love it that they keep the place clean and kids friendly. walked from the little pier to the rock and it was wonderuful. had clam chowder soup in a bread.
Apparently there used to be seven of these giant rocks along the coast and this is the last of them. It is really a sight to behold. It is very easy to get to. This is our second visit to this rock and the people we were with were even more impressed than we were.
Morro Rock, a volcanic pluton is Lisa Mu to the native Indians. What ever you call it, it is not for climbing, as three teens recently found out to their dismay. All three, 16 and younger, ignored the signs and proceeded up the rock. They got stuck. Unable to come down, and in increasing darkness, the call for help went out. Firetrucks, ambulance, police, Harbor Patrol and Coast Guard responded. Although two boys made it down, the youngest had to be rescued under the glare of floodlights. The boys and their parents faced charges and hefty fines for ignoring the warnings. Dedicated working men and women risk their own bones and equipment to rescue teenage stupid. Please, do not let your strongest memory of a beautiful place be, " This is where my child got a criminal record!"
The whole bay is an extraordinary visit. There are many shops and some of the best food you will find on the cost.
Morro Bay Rock is a must see. It is huge and cool to walk around. You can drive right to the rock, get out explore the area, see the cool birds and catch some sea lions and otters playing in the water. You can also walk to the rock from downtown or ride bikes on the cool bike paths they have. If you want some solitude it's a great place to hang out at. Sunset and Sunrise are beautiful!!
You can see Morro Rock for miles on a clear day. It's a great landmark and it lets ships know where they are also. It's a must every time we go to Morro Bay to drive over to the rock and view the ocean and see all the wildlife.
Construction going on while we were visiting in Feb 2015 included a beautiful paved walkway and bike path going from town all the way out to the Rock. Benches as well where you can camp out to watch the otters. It is going to be beautiful once complete.
IT IS A BIG ROCK! it was used by captains long ago as a mapping point for large ships. it is a great place to walk to and around. You can not climb on it. it is a neat place to look at the ocean at sunrise or sunset. you can see all of Morro Bay from there.
Just amazing to see! And great beaches! Take off your shoes and beachcomb.....I found so many sanddollars!
