I have gone there for as Long as I can remember with my mom we've gone there practically since I was 3 or 4. It is a great Museum for kids Lots of hands-on not at all boring like plain old Museums.Kids want to stay instead of leave. This museum is my most favorite museum of all times. I think my favorite part is the fake store with a whole bunch of fake groceries and even a fake but real looking check register that place is Awesome. There Is also a yummy Mexican restaurant in the building across the street and a cute little (but still very fun) water park a few streets down.
not worth it waste of time n money to do a bday are just to go. rather go to a park n have a bounce house. they needed the party room by the way even though they don't have another party. they people are very rushy. n rude dont go here.
3 + 7 yr old love this museum. Been back 2 or 3 times now. Police bike and Police Car, bus, Fire Truck, Ambulance to play on. Art room to make crafts. Many interactive play areas and at the same time educational. Don't forget your camera, you'll want to take plenty of photos. Dress up as a fireman (Dad and Son) and take a photo in front of the firetruck and have a keep sake to remember!
This museum is a "hands on" vocational activity for children between ages 3-10. It gives them a perspective of a grocery store, fire engine, police car, ambulance, helicopter, post office, news caster and other activities keeping them busy as long as you want. There is a small cost but well worth it. Be sure to take your camera for shots that will be keepsake. This is wheel chair friendly, single story. Have fun.
Dumping ground for unwanted vehicles the city didn't need. The museum is not really a museum. More of a play-land of old motorcycles and out dated equipment. They will charge you $5 to enter unless your are a 2 year old.
I came here with my family for a short visit just to pass the time. Every time I do, I still feel the same excitement from when I was little. The interactive exhibits keep the child happy and busy, and you feel good about it because they are learning. Just a short distance from the marina and theatre.
Expensive way to give the kids something to do for a short time and learn how things work in the real world
My 4 year old son had so much fun there. He played on everything and was really excited. There's a lot for kids to play on and it only cost $5 bucks which is cheaper than sitting through a kid movie. I came out from Modesto so I thought it was in a nice area in Stockton. The Marina across the street caught my son's eye too. We will be back and head to Pixie Woods after. Make a day trip out of it. Wish Modesto had stuff like this museum for kids:)
Lots of things to touch and climb on. A real helicopter, police car, tractors and a bus. Kids can pretend to go shopping and have a puppet show.Staff is helpful.Real things to do. Not a video game. Stimulates the brain while having fun. If you are lucky, they will run around, get tired, and nap later!A most excellent thing to do on a rainy day. Then take them to pizza.Really, there is not much of this sort of thing around any more, and sadly not much in the area for smaller kids to do that's not outdoors.Grownups can have some fun interacting.
In a town with not much to do for the kids, this is a fun and educational experience. There is plenty for the kids to see and do. Sit in a police car, be an ambulance driver, play firefighter, It is all here.
Went for a birthday party. The place was very strict about the timing, they kicked us out when our time was up. But the kids enjoyed the place.
It's not often that you find a place not trying to gouge you on the entrance fees and still providing a good time. This museum has been around for a while and our kids have gone there multiple times. The entrance fees are very reasonable and although the displays are aging a bit, it is still a place where the kids can have fun. On our last trip, one mom had brought her own chair and parked it at the chokepoint. What a great idea! The kids run around from exhibit to exhibit trying on different things, turning on lights and sirens, etc. It's too bad they can't get some grants to build some new exhibits, but what they have is still great. It's not huge, but my kids were well entertained for about 2 hours.
I brought my 22 year old niece here when she was 8 or 9 years old. We had so much fun, and we loved the news studio the best. We had so many laughs doing a news broadcast.
This is a great hands on experience for the kids. The museum is large and well maintained with local shops and stores represented. They have great party rooms and summer camps for the kids as well as anice yard out back. They also have a wonderful craft room and a nice reading area for the kids.
We live in the valley where temperatures can top 115 degrees in summer and 60 degrees in winter. So where do we get the snow? Every December, the Children's Museum of STockton "imports" snow from the Sierras or the Bear Valley Area by the truckloads and dumps it right in front of the museum where children and parents alike can play and experience fun in real snow. This is just an added bonus to what is really inside the museum. Children and parents alike can have a fun and learning experience . Plus, the museum is right by the Waterfront where the whole family can watch either a Hockey or soccer game or a baseball game all walking distance from the museum. ALERT! Make sure you park in one of the indoor garaqes just a stone's throw away from the museum. It is safer!
