What can I say about a place where you can show up at midnight, throw a few crab pots in the water and socialize with the other hardcore crab catchers...and do it safely!Wonderful views and worth the walk even if you don't fish.Word of advice...the seagull's think your bait (or food, for that matter) is for them...so keep an eye open for the occasional aggressive gull...otherwise, see you there!
Very nice weather on the day we went, saw a guy catch a sea bass with a muscle he took off some of the rocks. Pretty long walk to the end, the Light House made for some really nice pictures. It is very clean and the people are friendly.
First off, it is a nice, large pier, Locals and visitors alike enjoy fishing, crabbing or hanging out. A zoom lens will get you a nice shot of the Battery Point lighthouse. Stay for sunset in the Spring or Fall for some glorious color. One question the locals never quite got an answer for was why build it so close to the sewer? Why was the sewer even built so close to town anyway? Not nearly as bad as it used to be, but some days you will just want to find something else to do.
We walked this area and enjoyed it each night of our stay. It is a wonderful place to watch the sunset.
The whole area is just gorgeous to just walk and see. Romantic at sunset to walk the pier and watch the tide come in.bring a jacket.it can get chilly
Nice parking area. This is the close to the Battery point Lighthouse. The pier is a nice walk and wheel chair friendly. Sunsets are wonderful from here.Morning, afternoon or night wonderful spot.
It's a short walk from other great destinations park here and walk to the light house , park , swimming pool , soccer fields , ultimate frisbee course , agget beds , great scenery u could waste hours sight seeing and having fun . The pool does cost however , and tours through lighthouse also but fishing and crabbing from pier does not require license enjoy !
This was a fun place to walk to enjoy the waves splashing up on the rocks. You can walk out a fair way. The pier itself is not overly scenic but the surrounding are.
I wouldn't bother to do the B Street Pier alone. Definitely pair it with getting a bite to eat (which you'll need to drive to before or after), visiting the park or in conjunction with the lighthouse, which is right next to it. It's a very short walk, with not much to see or do at the end.
It was fun for the kids to walk out to the end of the pier and look around. They were able to pull up a crab pot and see a couple of nice sized crabs. Great view of Battery Point Lighthouse.
We live in Brookings so often drive down to Crescent City to shop and decided to drive along the ocean. Found the B Street Pier and walked out to watch the crabbers. It was a beautiful day and this was a nice quiet spot (maybe due to it being mid-week). Got a few good photos. Probably not a place I would bring guests, but nice to know about.
We stopped briefly at the Pier and walked out to the end. it is good that it is protected by a water break as it is in need or repair. The locals fish off from it and there is an abundance of crabs. The view is wonderful on a clear evening and a nice place to view the sunset. Take the kids and let them fish it is free. and the parking is close to the entrance. Accessible for anyone. Check out the sea life in the water pools at low tide. Be prepared for cool breezes this time of year.
This was a fun place to take the kids fishing off of the pier. You don't need a fishing license to fish here. They had fun fishing (even though they didn't catch anything). There were people there crab fishing and it was fun to watch them pull in crab too. At low tide, we searched for crabs and shells in the tide pools below. I think it's a good place to stop if you or your kids want to do a little fishing but don't want to buy licenses.
My girlfriend and I walked out on the wood pier after visiting the nearby lighthouse. The walk on the pier was fun, and it was interesting to see a few fishermen trying to catch crabs from the water below. There is also a huge cement "waterbreak" close to the pier. We also walked out on this structure. The waves were crashing over the waterbreak, so we did not go all the way to the end. We did not want to get knocked into the ocean by the waves!
Piers are to me always a fun walk , enjoyed being out there , weather was so so cool, I am used to death valley temps, this get away was a big treat & will do it again & again , as I do!
