Staff were friendly, location is great, just 30 minutes out of San Francisco and great golf course. Mullins Restaurant had good food and pro shop were accommodating and allowed us out early without any additional charge.

We played both courses on a package at the hotel. The Old course was in the better condition and arguably less tricky than the Ocean ,the last 3 holes were really demanding. When we played the Ocean the sea mist came in and that was a challenge to say the least fortunately it lifted after the first 3 holes otherwise it would have been dangerous as the course is quite tight and often holes run parallel. We really enjoyed the experience.

Played Ocean course on way back to SFO from Pebble Beach. If done correctly - would play here first and then PB - because anything after PB is a step down. California has drought conditions - so the course was lacking water - which is why we didn't play Pasatiempo. The Ocean course has great finishing holes 16-18 that is along the ocean - and it is super windy - great challenge. Its also a great course to play the bump and run - as the fairways were super hard and fast. This is the second time I played here - first time the Ritz was still being built. The finishing holes along the ocean shows the Ritz up on the cliff and you can see the beach area. There is a public pathway where there is a lot of people walking - sometimes you have to wait for the people walk through before you can hit. The clubhouse has one shower and about 15 lockers - for people like us dropping in for a quick round. I felt the clubhouse was built as an after thought - not as nice as I would have expected given the Ritz is here. Again - play here before PB - so your experience won't be tarnished!

Ocean in my opinion is better. Old course is interesting as well. They are pricey and probably a bit overrated on a National scale but given its the Bay Area, pretty good for public access.

Sometimes luck is with you when you can play this gorgeous course on a warm sunny day in Half Moon Bay. The course is fun to play and the views are amazing.(Note: If one does not play golf, there is a public access beach and walking paths here too.)

The Ocean course is the best fun of the two courses here. The green are always in top shape and you seldom feel rushed to play. look-out as there are many places to louse your balls! You can walk or cart this course and that is a nice option

I have only played the old course, and to be honest, I will not rush back to play it again. It was in pretty ordinary condition and apart from the last 2 holes, it is a very non-impressive lay-out. The resort offers good facilities though.

My sons played this course, they have played in some great courses, but they said this one was the best, they played the ocean course at the Ritz, The day before we walked the ocean trail that in some parts hugs the golf course, you actually walk on the golf cart path they both felt that it helped them seeing the course before they played.

This golf course is nice but somewhat overrated. Very slow to play a round with no one out there to help move play around. Some signs need replacing and the rental clubs (particulaly the putters) were not in great shape. Old Course has no water views until the last two holes and hotel guests were walking on the greens with no one to stop them. I preferred the Ocean course but this is no Pebble Beach.

I love both courses with a slight preference for Ocean Course when its a bit windy (but not too windy!). Relaxed atmosphere. Good value.

This was our third time playing the Ocean Course, and I never get tired of the spectacular views (if you can get a nice sunny day). It is just beautiful, and an enjoyable course to play. A true links style course. This time, we also played the Old Course. This is a much tougher course. Lucy Li, the 11 yr old that just played the Ladies US Open, played her qualifying round here. They said she shot a 68 from the Blue tees. I won't tell you what I shot from the reds, but suffice it to say it wasn't a 68. One thing about the old course though is the 18th hole. I think it has to be one of the most beautiful holes I have ever seen/played. I would still play the Ocean course again, but the 18th on the old course was definitely what a finishing hole should be!

I loved the old course - played it twice. The 18th hole is AMAZING!!! The course itself is in great condition and if you can play twilight it is a really great deal. Golf pro is fantastic and really helped tweak my game. I did not play the ocean course, but I will on my next trip.

This layout was well maintained & the staff was super hospitable.Last three holes on The Ocean Course are the most picturesque I have played.Even on a foggy day the scenery was fantastic!

We walk and bike through here often. We love the views and pathways to the overlooks and beach. U fortunately, the golfers race their golf carts with no hesitation for the runners, walkers and families enjoying the open space paths. They also smoke cigars with no regard for folks out trying to get fresh air and exercise. The Ritz Carlton needs to do a better job educating their clientele to be better neighbors as they are the stewards of this golf course.

VAPourhouse

The setting is much like that of the waterfront holes of St. Andrews, with amazing views, wide open fairways, but very fast greens. Like any well tended golf course, the greens are like putting on an ice rink. Also be sure to pack a jacket in the event of the possibility of rain bc it can get very chilly out there. Overall the experience was awesome playing this course, and I would love to play here again!
