Clean and safe. No alcohol and no smoking is strictly enforced. definitely kid-friendly. Surfing is popular.

I loved everything about this beach. There were crashing waves, surfers, seashells, and picturesque shops and restaurants. Please stay away. I want to keep this place for myself.

Breathtaking views, uninterrupted ocean breeze, and warm sand on your toes. The crowds are very good. No odd or risky groups since we been going. If you love the surf, you will love Carlsbad State Beach

This beach is so clean and fun for the whole family. It is hard however to find parking. Show up early to get a good spot. Make sure to pack a bag with all the things you will need for the day so you don't have to leave and lose your parking spot. This beach is just another reason why California is the best place to live.

You can walk for miles! Wide sandy beaches. And lots of sunshine. Some free parking available. And we were lucky enough to spot a whale

The Carlsbad beachfront is beautiful. We sat hours away there, saw many dolphins, pelicans, and a few whales chuffing. The takeout fish stand at the top of the beach entrance is a nice lunch.

This is a long, somewhat wide, pleasant beach. Unfortunately, being on the Pacific, the water is very rarely warm.

The Pacific Ocean is beautiful, even in February! With unseasonably warm weather, there were surfers in the frigid water, there were families, singles and couples strolling the beach or playing in the sand. The beach, regardless of which area you plant yourself, is beautiful. It's clean and the air is filled with salt breezes and the occasional screech of seagulls and children laughing. The crashing waves are mesmerizing and the sky is blue, just like the water.There is a fee; look for the kiosk at either end of the parking lots before heading to the beach. It's not that much so don't try to avoid it because the fines can be high!
