South of the main part of Santa Cruz and just north of the iconic village of Capitola, this is a must see on a bike, or walking. So well done with the great cliff-side walkway/bikeway.

Great walking path from the Hook at 41st Ave all the way up to First Peak and Rockview. Stop for a snack at The Point Market. Restrooms at the Hook and up by First Peak.

Great beach (at low tide) and a relatively laid-back vibe in the water and the sand. If you surf, go somewhere else---smile! I visit several times a year for a surf getaway. A nice mix of short and long boarders that seem to coexist. Stay outa the way and respect.Parking can be a challenge. Make sure you pay attention to the signs.Market is right there for snacks, drinks, etc.Way cool neighborhood with a mix of tiny lots that have old school patchouli beach bungalows side by side with heinous McMansions.

Nice neighborhoods, clean parks, and great surf in the winter. Town has a good vibe, Crowds aren't so bad. The parking is ok, but can get filled quick (mostly street parking). Nice change of scenery from here in San Diego...while SC still keeps it green and not a concrete jungle. Many places to eat & shop.

Pleasure Point and "The Hook" are renown for local surfing. The beach is at the base of the cliff along East Cliff Drive, halfway between the Boardwalk and Capitola. The beach is dog friendly but leash laws are strictly enforced. Man vs. Nature is nowhere more evident than here, with the encroaching vacation homes challenging the eroding cliff until the next big slide. If surfing or watching surfers is your thing, you'll give this beach 4+ stars! Otherwise, it's a nice place to walk or ride your bike, though East Cliff is a narrow street that could do with a lot less traffic. One of the nicest features of the beach is the Point Market & Cafe, where you can get cheap, quick and delicious food/drinks to go. Check out bit.ly/VEUbtE Better beaches? For dogs: Hidden Beach, Lighthouse State Beach or 26th St. Beach. For kids and sunny weather: Seabright Beach or Harbor Beach. For volleyball watching: Harbor Beach or Main Beach. So start out your beach walk with a burrito and hot cuppa joe from Point Market & Cafe and you'll be set!

East Cliff Drive from "The Hook" to Pleasure Point is stunning. You walk, run or bike along about a mile long, wide paved trail with phenomenal views of Monterey Bay. There are many sets of staircases down to the beach to use when the tide is low. This a popular surf spot with lots of surfers and surf shops nearby. It is a place you cannot visit too many times. If you continue down Opal Cliff Drive, in about 3/4 of a mile, you connect with Capitola Beach and Wharf -- another pretty spot.

Pleasure Point is on the northern Monterey Bay in Santa Cruz County, California, [4] is a world renowned surf location. Traditionally defined as the area along the coast from 41st Ave to Moran Lagoon, up 30th Ave to Portola and over to 41st Ave down to the sea at the "Hook". It is a prime example of surf culture.

I could sit here for hours and watch the surfers and take in some of the Capitola life. Join in and surf, bike ride or just take a stroll along the coastline for a view at one of the most beautiful places around. This last visit we even got a glimpse of a group of dolphins swimming up the soreline right along with the surfers. It was incredible! A must do!

There is limited beach at high tide, but the walking path above is always nice. A two way road was made into a one way and the extra given to a separate bike path and wide walking path. It is easy to watch the iconic surf spot while walking the path. This is much easier than West Cliff in Santa Cruz, where you have to watch out for bikes on the same path. Park at the end of 41st Avenue and walk to the Market at Pleasure Point. I walked with my elderly mother and it was not a problem.

Not much beach at high tide. Restrooms dirty and very smelly. Bring lunch. Pack your trash!! Obnoxious teenagers with potty mouths.

There are probably better vantage points to observe this area of natural iconic beauty but part of the attraction here is to be amongst the scenery of people that are either surfing or watching the surfing activity. Must see spot to get the spirit of Santa Cruz lifestyle.

This isn't the sort of beach for those who want to go lay out in the sun for hours. In fact, there really isn't much sandy beach at all. But, for those who want to surf and play in the water, this is the perfect spot, especially for beginners. The water is fairly shallow and you'll rarely be out there alone at this time of year.

Um dos lugares mais incriveis que vivi nesta viagem. O por do sol. Os surfistas, dezenas deles na água. Lontras. Que lugar mágico. Todos de skate, bikes. Tudo ali era incrivel! Imperdivel de se conhecer. Voltaria todo ano!
