I liked that you can sit by the field and sometimes get to talk with the players, and they like to interact with the younger generation of fan's. Price is reasonable, but the parking could be improved.Over all it is a good wholesome experience for Old (like me) and young.
...with friends or family. It is so comfortable and close feeling. Easy to get to and easy to find parking. FUN summer night activity for all.
They have a great barbeque and other food choices for the family to enjoy. The tickets are reasonable and sometimes free. They have entertainment between innings so everyone has fun
The stadium was built in 1942. If you want to get up close and personal with the future ballplayers, definitely give this place a visit! Not only is pretty much every seat a good one, but this place has the BEST BBQ--Turkey Mike's! Oh, and best kept secret: The Churro's here are THE best! Even better than the ones that they sell in SF!! Baseball and Summer--nothing better than this.
San Jose Giants won tonight in extra innings. Such a great ending to a fun night. We started with getting free tickets from Orchard Supply (although there is a $10.00 parking fee).We then got some Turkey Mike's Barbecue - it's almost like an "institution" to stand in line and get some barbecue! Tonight we opted for ribs, corn on the cob and beans! So good! The ball park has a nice picnic table area to sit at while enjoying dinner! Then of course there is the game. Tonight its the San Jose Giants against the Fresno Nuts! Its fun as usual. It goes into extra innings and San Jose Giants win! There is more fun at this stadium. Kids chasing baseballs that go into the fan area. Gigante, the mascot for the San Jose Giants, leading us all in cheers. There are between inning fan activities. One of my favorite is Smash for Cash where the baseball players try to break the headlights of a van! Its amazing how few can do this! Then there are fun games where the fans try to play musical chair, or the one where they three people try to pretend they are horses in the horse race game. There is BINGO and more. There is also a kid fun zone....and a store to buy San Jose Giant fan gear. The favorite of many fans is "Beer Batter". If the San Jose Giants strike out the designated beer batter on the opposite team, beers are 1/2 price. To be on the side of safety, after the 7th inning, it becomes Martinelli Apple Juice instead of beer. All in all San Jose Giants Municipal Stadium is a fun place to go to see a game. There's more fun than what I have listed such as birthday parties, work events, and more. There is also a mini museum - a wall that shows the history of the San Jose Giants and who made it into the major leagues.
My wife and I discovered this place during the 1994 Major League Baseball strike. Muni Stadium is the home of the San Jose Giants. Over the last 20 years we have seen a number of players play there that later went on to be major league players. Players like: Pablo Sandoval, Buster Posey, Matt Cain to name a few. With a little bit of work you can find free tickets at select San Jose Merchants or you can normally buy reasonably priced tickets the day of the game at the stadium box office. Enjoy the game.
There is just a few things to know. First bring a jacket, I was not prepared for 50 degree nights. There is a ton of things for the kids to do. The food was awesome (try the ribs). We had about 15 in our group surroundings were very good and felt very safe. The fireworks were AWESOME! Worth the wait.Parking was easy, however, leaving was total chaos!Be patient!
This park is home to the SF Giants' farm team. Being so close to the MLB team gives plenty of opportunities for big-leaguers on rehab assignments to be seen by the locals. But even without that, the games are fun, there are lots of games and give-aways for the kids, and the mascot is wild and crazy. Tickets are very reasonable, though parking is $10 and food and drinks are ballpark priced. But we had a great time and recommend it!
It is great fun to go to a game and doesn't cost an arm and leg!!Goiod fun, great family fun too. Excellent to bring kids to a game.Parking is easy too.
It's an older ballpark, but still a great place to watch a game. It's inexpensive, and the small stadium makes for an intimate baseball experience. The people who work there are extremely helpful and friendly, and the fans are easy going. The between-innings entertainment is always enjoyable, too.
This is a minor league San Jose Giants baseball team......it is fun to go see them play. First, because you can see players perform spectacularly or you can see them make an error or two as this is minor league (they hope to learn to be good enough to go to professional). The stadium is small enough so kids can run around and have fun. The barbecue here is spectacular. Real barbecue with lots of great things from burgers - chicken - ribs and so forth. Nice picnic tables so many go early before the game. There are usually fun things going on between the innings - for example, the players try to smash the headlamps of a truck (and most do not)....Ah, what will happen next. There is during some of the innings " Beer Batter". This is where they designate one person on the opposing team to be the beer batter - when he comes up to bat, if he strikes out, then there is 2 for 1 beers. Watch the stands empty as people line up.Its also relatively inexpensive since local vendors such as Orchard Supply gives out free tickets for a few of the games. Expect on those nights (or days) to have a lively crowd......its a local event.....and its baseball at its finest (and worst)....but you can always count if you like baseball, that you will enjoy being at the game.
My family and I were visiting other family members in San Jose for the week and we deceided to go see a baseball game. We had a great time the announcers kept everyone entertained. What made the event even better was that you are able to pick up FREE tickets to most games at the local stores. The only out of pocket expense was a $10.00 parking fee, but who's complaining when a family of 6 can see a great game for free. Seats were comfortable for bleachers and great vision of the field. You can purchase box seats, but, why bother. Food and drinks were very expensive, but, it always is at these types of events. If you plan on purchasing any food you should try the barbaque area, food slightly higher then at other sections but worth the extra cost. My recomendation is to get to the stadium and have some real family fun!
My wife and I went with friends to Saturday's baseball game where the San Jose Giants continued their winning streak against the Inland Empire 66ers. Great game! We had general admission tickets and sat in the bleachers on the home field side (in the shade). Great view, less than 50 feet from first base.
