This place is incredible - there are not that many animals in the zoo but when you leave - you feel as if you have gone to a place that is four times the size. I have been there with elderly people and little kids and everyone has the same smile and look of awe on their faces. Many programs on the schedule - a great resource to the community and easy parking.

They have science exhibits that encourage kids to play and learn. There is also a small zoo outside which has animals such as snakes, ducks tortoise, raccoons, bobcat, etc.

Our grandchildren live two blocks from the Junior Museum and Zoo so we get to visit every time we're in town seeing them. Admission is free but donations are encouraged. This is a wonderful experience for young children and doting grand parents. There are lots of educational indoor activities to challenge young minds and lots of animals in the zoo to keep everyone occupied for hours. There's a park right next door if they need to burn off excess energy. Well worth a visit if you're in Palo Alto.

I took my 4 year old son and he loved the museum the most. Playing with all the science projects. I enjoyed looking at the animals but did think the bobcat and racoon enclosure should be bigger. But for a donation of 5.00 it is Great value.

The science museum is well worth a visit! There are many exciting exhibits for small hands and curiosity seekers. However, I am addressing the use of the facility for a birthday party. As an adult guest at a recent birthday party, I was surprised at the complete lack of skill in the employee/teacher/leader of the party. She had very little organizational skill, lack of motivating nuances or remarks, and lack of cheer with the children. She did not know how to explain the activities and each child was confused with her instructions. Luckily, young children can have fun doing almost anything, but this was very disappointing. I understand it is very pricey and I would not hesitate to tell anyone, do not party there!

Trust me! When my kids were small, this was a favorite activity and we visited at least weekly. Sweet little pond, wonderful live animal exhibits and engaging, hands-on indoor exhibits. Just right for little ones.

I brought my 1 year old here even though the reviews I read suggested this place is for kids a bit older. I'm glad I did. Mary Lou had a great time! There is an indoor activity center with a cool insect theme. Different stations are set up with various activities and things to explore. There is even a baby area! We spent some time in there. She loved it. Outdoors was really cool as well. I wish there was more interactive opportunities with the animals but it's cool just the same. Go during feeding time to really get a show.Best of all..this place is free! They recommend a $5 donation per person. You'll want to donate for sure. They do great things here. Show your support so it can continue on for the next generation. :)

We often go here with our kids. The exhibits rotate a few times a year and offer really cool hands on experiences for kids. The little zoo is great as well, with bats, bobcats, owls, snakes and many other animals. Highly recommended if you are in the area with little kids.

if you need an activity for your kids.. (2-9) not to demanding where they can enjoy themselves and discover new things.. this is the perfect place.. animals, science experiments, structure to climb and play, and the bats... they are just the right "batastic" !real good venue and it is free of charge.. but I am sure you won't leave without making a donation.

Great little museum and zoo!Just the right size for kids, with a nice playground just outside. There used to be a very tame raccoon in the zoo that loved to watch the children playing next door. (I wonder if it's still there?)

This is a great place to go with young kids (toddlers). There is a nice little "zoo" with a few animals, fish, and reptiles. Also a few bunnies, turtles and a large honking goose. It is the perfect size for the 5 and under set. There is a small bridge for them to walk over and a changing assortment of displays in the museum area.

This is such a fun museum. There is no charge but they happily accept donations. The front room has all sorts of tactile experiences for toddlers through elementary kids. The zoo is small but has a great collection of birds, reptiles, bats, other small animals

This is a small neighborhood zoo and children's museum - a nice way to spend an hour in Palo Alto with a 5 and 7 year old. The museum is free but donations of $5/person are welcome. We went on a Sunday in November, right when it opened at 1 pm. It's not very busy at that time so we were able to enjoy ourselves without a crowd. Just around the museum is a park playground - score!
