everything is old and very boring. Looks like its falling apart.Go to any other water park but here.
It never sits well with me when you get to an attraction right when they open and you see all the employees taking the parking places closest to the entrance. This very good customer service. The pizza we had wasn't bad and the price was about right for a one topping pizza. What did disturb me a bit was the fact that none of the other concession stands were open. There was no ice cream, no snow cones etc. When we asked we were told they would be there later. This was at 2:30pm, I am not sure how much later it could have been. There was plenty of places to sit. We went to the lazy river first thing when they opened (11:00am) and it had leaves etc. floating in it which didn't make it appear very clean. Maybe have someone there before the park opens to clean it out would give a better impression. We stayed in the children's area and all of the children there seemed to be having a great time. There was plenty of things to entertain children for toddlers to about age 10. Towards the middle of the afternoon however it became the place to be for older kids. A suggestion here would be to send the older kids off to their own area so the little kids could play without the fear if getting run over. The locker rental was $6.00 to rent a tube it was $5.00, to park it was $3.00.
Took my nieces for some girl time and had a blast. It was there first time going they liked the variety of slides and the loved the lazy river. Great place to go for all ages mine are 9yrs 14yrs and 15
We are from OR and have been looking forward to visiting the water park for several months. We visited on a Friday afternoon. The website provides very little info about you can and cannot bring into the water park. We brought a small cooler with water and a few towels. we were excited to spend the day at the park. after a quick inspection it's easy to see where the park could stand to make BIG improvements. Our group alone (with discounts) paid $80. I would expect to have an $80 experience. Instead our experience seemed sad, dirty and pretty disappointing. the rides are leaking and often smell of urine. Having been a former life guard I understand the difficulties if the job but the staff seems utterly annoyed and hardly able to focus on the children swimming underneath them. the bathrooms are frightening dirty. I was so bummed out by our visit after hearing such great things about trips there from family. I think we won't returned until things are cleaned up, staff is responsible and competent and the grounds are improved. it looks like a theme park grave yard out there. quite sad
I was very disappointed at the up keep of the place , bathrooms were gross and very unclean , the rinse off showers didn't work at all . I had not been there in a while and was very disappointed . Would not go again .
Keep in mind we went on July 4th, so not sure if that is an overly busy day or not.* It's right off the highway so the street leading to the entrance is a one laner and slow. (but that didn't stop a couple cars from driving across the double lines into the oncoming traffic lane to cut in front of everyone!)* Park is not too big, not too small. My kids are 5 and 7 and I'd say it was perfect for them.* Felt it was overall clean - it's obviously dated but no complaints.* You have to get their super early to have any chance at a table. We just ended up laying some towels on the concrete near a tree that we knew would shade us later.* The kids play area was really fun for them, not crazy busy until later in the day.* The big wave pool was fun as well, but they have a limited number of life jackets for the pool - they are only supposed to be used for that pool and they didn't do a good job telling people to take them off when leaving that area; thus a lot of people were left waiting for them (you need them to swim in the "deep" area). The wave pool got dangerously packed later in the day - fine for teens/adults but not so good for small kids when that busy.* Food was actually pretty good.Overall, we liked it and the kids loved it so we'd come back.
The Island Waterpark is located just off of Highway 99 (Shaw exit). So it is in an excellent location. It does get regular maintenance and it has some good rides. I've been a season ticket holder for a few seasons. I guess my main complaint is that it just doesn't seem very safe. I've heard stories from others who have had their cars broken into while they were at the park, so I try to get there early and park near the front entrance. Also, like many other waterparks, Island charges for just about everything. Some flumes need special intertubes. Rent them for an additional fee. Food is a little expensive. Lockers are normally available (again, extra fee). Island can be a fun day, but some of the other parks in the Fresno area offer a little more.
Company pick nick here, the staff had it going on. Meet or exceeded all of our needs and the parks was in great shape. No rides down, all facility clean and in operation. You will have Fun, Fun and more Fun.
Great for kids, teens, and grownups. No issues with bringing in a cooler with food. If you live close by, get a season pass. Much better than the other place in the area.
there are lots of choices for the kids and the place is pretty well run. they have plenty of staff and seem to keep people safe. the slides are fun and the people watching is always interesting.
We bought our daughter and granddaughter a summer pass this year. They used it twice a week for the whole of the summer. It was money well spent.
Large wave pool, good size kiddie area with large climbing structure several twisty slides, and several smaller wavy slides, shallow water all around the structures, spouting water from everywhere. Several sea animal structures to sit/play on (whale, dolphins, crab), also several large jellyfish structures where water flows down their umbrella-like tops. Lots of seating around the kiddie zone. Good size lazy river although they do not provide inner tubes for the lazy river, you must rent them (single tube $7, double tube $10). 4-lane face-first wavy slide (imagine those wavy slides at the fair, now put yourself on a foam pad, add some water, and lay-down face first), you really catch some air going down it was fun and many people were racing each other down the slide. Next to that were three body slides, one was twisty and the top enclosed (tube), one literally drops straight down, and the last one is open top and wavy ride down. There's a group tube slide (we called it the family slide) you sit in a large round raft tube (up to 4 people) and slide down the water slide (we loved it). There's a group of 3 twisty body slides (1 open top and 2 enclosed tubes). 3 inner tube slides: 1 open top, 1 totally enclosed tube, and one has half the slide enclosed in tube then becomes open top for the second half of the slide.Since we had never been there before I was concerned about shade seating. There was tons of shady places to sit. Again, we weren't there on the weekend and I imagine it's much more crowded then but during the workweek there's plenty of seating options. They allow you to bring in coolers, food, beverages (no glass containers). There is food/drink sold inside the park as well. I was surprised that they sold beer, honestly not sure if that's good or bad depends on how stupid people get while drinking. Locker rentals are $6.00 and allow you to open/close the locker multiple times throughout the day. Parking was $3.00.At first glance the park seems pretty clean; however, when you climb the stairs to the slides we noticed alot of dirt/debris on the stairs (clearly they don't spray the stairs down). Saw trash/debris underneath the family tube ride (gross). We were so glad we wore our water shoes. You can also see the old mini golf, batting cages, and bumper boat pool (filled with murky white water) from what looks like an old family fun center right next door. They should really fill-in the bumper boat pool I imagine that's a wonderful breeding ground for mosquitos.Overall we had a great time there. A few things they could work on but there's always room for improvement. If we were in the area again during the hot summer we would go back again.
Always rent a locker. If your going with family take your own lunch and rent 2 lockers with your belongings. Take your own floating devices to save money. Go early. Lines get long.
We meet up with family & friends when we go because it is centrally located for all of us. The cabanas are nice a little small for out group but we make it work you have to get there early to get a good one, Costco has a good deal on tickets. Park has a lot for the little kids & big kids & everything in between
There is pretty much something for everyone. Several different types of slides and a great place for the very little kids. Lots of trees to relax under. The lazy river is a wonderful place to relax and just float. Food is expensive and not very good.
