This review is only based on one play: mistletoe&mayhem play! Here is the deal: the play was very good for community theater; and for $15 a ticket you cant go wrong! The value made it a 5. Broadway it is definitely not, but again it was still done very well; and made for a fun (and funny!) night :)Its a 'caberet style" theater- meaning small area with tables. They seat four chairs at a tiny round table and the room seats about 100. seats arent exactly lazyboy heaven, but the table is nice as you can eat and drink during the show :)This play has no intermission but is very fast paced. think SNL- its 85 minutes of short funny(and sometimes irreverent which contributes to the hilarity) skitsI highly recommend this play and i will be coming in the spring to see Boeing,Boeing,Boeing :)Tips: go early and be the first to hit up the concession line(which serves alcohol!) Due to the line and that it closes during the play grab yourself two drinks (or three-no judgment) while in line cuz it can get long!Cost: tickets $15, beer $4, cocktail $6 water $2 snacks $2-3 (they also have wine, coffee, etc)

I loved the venue. The Coronado Playhouse is situated right by the water in Coronado Island. It is almost a park-like setting. There are tables and chairs where you can sit on while enjoying the view of the water only a few feet away. The play we watched was good (Dearly Beloved) but quite slow, although the cast was awesome and entertaining. I will continue to support this playhouse and am looking forward to future presentations.

Coronado Playhouse not only mounts very good productions, but it has the best venue in San Diego. Due to its beauty and amenities it is also used for many wedding receptions. It is a relatively new building within walking distance of the Hotel Del Coronado. It not only has beautiful views of the bay and San Diego, but it's just a block from the beach. The bike path that circles the bay runs right by the building if you want to stop by for a Sunday matinee. It also has a snack bar which serves alcoholic beverages.

I was surprised at how small and cozy this theatre is. It feels as if you are in a big living room with a stage. You get seated in tables and can drink wine, coffee and eat popcorn. It is truly kid friendly and they are encouraged to sit in front of the stage to get a better view. Will definitely come back.

I'm continually amazed at the quality of acting in San Diego. This is truly a community theater with tables and chairs that you might end up sharing. The sharing part gives you an opportunity to meet great people. The performances are high-level quality. So, this is a place to get good entertainment at very reasonable prices.

The Coronado Playhouse is a great community theater with first rate productions. We recently saw Suds at the Playhouse and really enjoyed the performance. The actors were fantastic, the setting is magical on the bay looking at San Diego, seating comfortable, and it is fun to support local actors. I highly recommend attending a plan at the Coronado Playhouse when you visit Coronado.

Suds is a musical with a book that strings together dozens of 60's songs into non-stop singing and dancing by 5 women and 1 man. It was very well done, especially for a small theater like this. Seats are at cabaret tables, and there is a bar with beers, mixed drinks, and snacks.

This is a cute little theatre in an easy to get to location. Parking was also easy. The show, Carnival, was well-staged and performed. This was a show I had seen many years ago, and I love the score. We were very pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the singers' voices and the obvious talents displayed by many of the cast. Being such a small venue, there really were no bad seats, but the one thing that did annoy me was that there were a couple of tables in the center that remained empty, while we were seated off to the side. Was that because we got discounted tickets? All in all, we would definitely go back to see another show here.

Funny and enjoying. I recommend everyone to watch "The Pageant" play and the upcoming plays. The host was funny, the actors were super.

Coronado Playhouse always puts on interesting shows. 2013 is the year of the musical - I just saw "Pageant" then "Carnival" and I can't wait for "Suds"!

This little place is fun, intimate, and a great place to meet other people sitting at your table. It is set up like a Cabaret and the actors get involved with the audience.

Seats were very comfortable and this is the only theatre I've been to with real butter, there are only 2-3 movies that play but they're generally the most current movies and generally have something for all members of a family.

It is what you expect, a small playhouse. Beverages are expensive. The show was not that great, but it could have just been our luck.
