This little theater has great productions in a small theater setting. There is seating on two sides with the stage occupying lots of the area in the room. You get a close up view of the performers from where you have seats. My only negative is that there is no place to set a drink or other items at your seat. There also is not much leg room to allow those who enter and exit during the show to pass by. Worth a Friday or Saturday evening.

Check the schedule. Local players with much professional talent and a wide varuety of plays.Open weekends. An inexpensuve way to spend an eveing.

We enjoy this place it gives us seniors something to look forward too the locals are not great actors but that's what makes it so darn fun

A nice spot to spend an evening. For a community the size of Redding the talent is often surprisingly good. They are normally best at light comedy. For the past few years they have been trying to move out of their present cubby-hole location into a larger one. Unfortunately. funding has been a problem.

I so enjoy taking in the performances at Riverfront and strongly urge you to see what great talent we have in the north state. For such a small venue, the stage is always a work of art, and the actors are just as good as you will find in the Sacramento area.

A small venue for plays. There has been tremendous talent in some of the plays. Check out the website to see if a play is currently showing. If you're sure you want to see the play, it is best to purchase tickets ahead of time to be sure to get a seat. Snacks and drinks available at the break (as well as bathrooms).

We have been members of the Playhouse for many years and will welcome the new building downtown. The staff is always helpful, the plays well thought out and the budding actors are GrEaT!

I went Riverfront Playhouse for the first time last week. I was amazed at how nice this little theater is! Great and kind volunteer management and staff. They told me that they do seven plays a year!!! They have been devoted to bringing quality entertainment to Redding for a long time! I can't wait for their next production!

We were very surprised on how nice and clean it was. Breakfast was fresh and pretty good. Staff very helpful.

Lots of fun going to this local theater and seeing folks do a great job with every play they produce. Looking forward to their new digs in downtown Redding. Good price for the value and so nice to be close to the action in this intimate setting.

Took my wife here for her birthday. It was the first time either of us had been here. We had such a great time. Small and very intimate venue. Would recommend everyone check it out.

Riverfront Playhouse has been an enthusiastic, all-volunteer community theater for more than twenty five years, bringing a wide variety of comedy and drama to its stage. My wife and I recently enjoyed a very engaging presentation of "To Kill a Mockingbird", and we thought last year's performance of Arthur Miller's "All My Sons" was outstanding. This theater brings opportunity to many talented local performers and fine entertainment to audiences. As of this writing, the Playhouse is breaking ground on a new, built-to-purpose facility, and we look forward to seeing what Riverfront accomplishes there!

Local acting talents tries their best to write and present plays. All actors donate their time and energy to bring a cultural performing arts presence to Redding. Over time, if the population brings in folks from larger urban cities, the quality of acting can grow. If you like the Berkeley Rep, you may be disappointed but give it a try and support the locals when in town.

The Riverfront Playhouse is local community theater at its most local. As usual, and as expected, the talent is uneven. The plays are rarely ambitious-- mostly the same fare you'd find in any local theater. It's fun to watch people you know on stage, but if you were just looking for a little cultural satisfaction, you might be disappointed in the local offerings.
