This is a lonely spot near a ranch. Small fenced off area will a stone memorial. Two small grave makers but now explanation offered. The graves are of two sentries that were killed in the battle.More interesting is the Medicine Hole Cave nearby where the Indians are presumed to have fled. killdeer.com states that this site is currently closed. I didn't know that when we ventured out but that would explain the missing sign. The site offers great views but its a bit of a hike up the mountain.
