red river valley fairgrounds

Nothing spectacular at the red river valley fair it is just your standard fair and not very big, been going for over 30 years and plan to stop going.

A place where the whole family can have fun, Food, Shows, Arts & Crafts, Booths selling crafts and of course music concerts.

My 3 year old niece was kicked off the merry go round because she was not tall enough her cousins were already situated. 75 dollars in wristbands and the little girl was left crying because the ticket stand was far away for an adult to buy 4 tickets to go on with her

Very nice fair to attend. Lots of animal, arts, and crafts exhibits. 4H building is a must. Good food and so many handmade items in this building. Surprised to see that you could only purchase Coca Cola products on the grounds. Free entertainment on the grounds but you need to go mid-morning to early afternoons to catch shows. Lots of carnival rides for younger children.

the RRVF does a great job each year making the fair a fun, inclusive, memory maker for us. I exhibit each year and love the feeling of heading out to the fair to see how my works do. The food was great, expensive, and unhealthy as usual- buts that's what the fair is. We were saddened to see that the petting zoo was not invited this year as it has always been one of our favorite aspects of the fair. The Canadian acrobats were good and the NASA space thing was broken. We look forward to making memories at the Red River Valley Fair each year.

We went here to see the Big Iron Farm show. We caught the tail end of the show so did not do the carnival part or food. We just looked at the gigantic farm equipment. Gotta admit most e did not even know what it was for but pretty amazing anyway. If you are in Fargo when this show is on, it is worth the stop.

Went to the fair on Saturday. Paid $8.00 and got to see The Band Perry play. Was the best $8.00 I've spent. Fairgrounds grandstand was perfect for the show. Started lining up at 5:00. By 9:00pm. there were 20,000 people waiting to see them. After the show, we went to the midway to try the deep fried cheese. We tried a sample pack of original, garlic, ranch, and Cajun. Tasted great, but was too much for two people. Had great fun and enjoyed the show.

The Big Iron Show is one of the Biggest farm related sites in North Dakota everyone has to go at least once in a lifetime

We visited Fargo during an RVing Trip on July 19 thru 21, 2012. This was not the time for the Fair but we wanted to visit the outdoor craft show in the old town shopping district. We were a group of a motor home and a travel trailer with four adults and one pet.The campground advertisement on the fairground site stated picnic tables at the sites - there were none. The sites were tight, ill-maintained, and had at least two to three weeks of grass growth on them along with much loose paper and garbage blowing around.. And when the mowers arrived on the Friday the operators did not seem to have time to pick-up the refuse but rather simply mowed over it spreading the resulting bits far and wide. While the showers were adequate they were not that clean and the campers in the grounds seemed to have trouble learning to flush toilets.The price was fine for this place IF it had been maintained. We remained two of our planned three nights (we probably would have visited the in-house Bonanzaville on the fairgrounds if we had stayed) and moved on on the Saturday after visiting the outdoor shopping twice. This latter was a great experience and we would like to visit Fargo again sometime. But we do hope there will be better camping facilities the next time.

I have lived in the area for four years and have been going out to the fairgrounds for the past three years for the Red River Valley Fair. It is usually held in July and every year there is something different to entertain the visitors. This year they had a great reptile show and a rather corny pirate diving show (more for the children) and all the usual food and rides. Bonanzaville is also open and free to all paid fair guests- its only worth the visit if it’s free. You can sign-up on the fairs facebook page to receive coupons via email and they even had a discounted facebook fan day. There is free parking close to the gate, or you can pay $3 for parking that is a little closer. It is a great few hours out in West Fargo for people of all ages.
