We moved to Burien 18 months ago. The park was closed for remodeling. Several decades ago, the park was messed up with improvements such as a sea wall. In the remodeled park, the beach has been restored with lots of driftwood and plants designed to give it a natural look. We like to go to the park when it is considered undesirable. Lots of birds including loons and goldeneye. There is a trail up the north side of the park where you can do an elevation gain of 400 feet in the woods. Great for conditioning.

We live close to this park, and I thought I would update the information since they removed the seawall on the north end. The work is done and they are putting in native plants so they can root properly during the winter. The work that has been done restored the beautiful transition from woods to beach, with plenty of thoughtful drainage off of the hill. The salmon ladder is fantastic and we cannot wait to watch the migrations. There is a new children's play area. There are many new large drift logs to sit on and watch the Sound. As always, the maintained trails are both beautiful and can become a solid aerobic work-out. The trails are lined with old growth stumps that have turned into nurse logs, huge groves of ferns and amazing moss-covered maples. There are numerous unmaintained and unmapped trails, with the better maintained ones being on the north side of the park - there is a vehicle access road that most people walk, and a nature trail. those both go up to the same point, so you can walk up one and down the other. You will see trails leading off trails, and the worst case is you will find yourself at the end of a trail and have to double back a bit. If you know the area or carry a map on your smart phone, you can easily navigate from a trail end on local roads to return to the park. The trails on the south side can get very muddy/slippery, but they have their own beauty - just be careful. The north side trials are probably a bit tricky for small children or older folks who have balance issues. But you don't have to go into the woods. The park is a low tide paradise (check the tide charts for best times), with lots of little crabs and fish in the small tide pools. Unfortunately the starfish wasting disease has almost eliminated our population of purple starfish. But there are still plenty of moon snails, anemones, and other critters to find at low tide. The park is only 20 minutes from downtown Seattle going the "back way" up Highway 509, or 10 minutes from the airport. There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores in Burien for picnic food. Our locally owned taquerias, delis and other ethnic spots should be sampled before going to the national chain fast food places.

An amazing hike with paved paths from Eagle's View B&B. Beautiful clear day, it was refreshing to get out and walk as we spend the day before in a plane for 6 hours. Make sure you visit this wonderful park.

Parking here can be a problem is you are challenged by hills as the parking down on the beach fills up quickly on warm days and the additional parking is up the main drive a short distance. The park recently was upgraded and there is an enlarged picnic area with several covered tables. Nice walking trail if you aren't ready to handle to sand and rocks. Beautiful views of the sound, with the ferry traffic off in the distance.

I had an hour to burn before needing to be at the airport and stopped here. Beautiful, natural beach. Great views. Wish I could have taken advantage of the trails.

We rented a VRBO with direct access to the hiking trails down to Seahurst Park. This was our first visit to the Seattle area, and our first hike in the lush forests of Washington state. There are a couple of trails down/up to/from the park, one shorter than the other. The woods is absolutely gorgeous. Some of the trail we were on was steep at times, and we wound up getting our jeans and shoes a bit muddy, but enjoyed the experience without regret. We were only in Burien for a couple of days and had just one opportunity to hike the forest. Had we stayed longer, I would have hiked the trails again. In the park, along the paved walkway parallel to the shore, mobiles made of shells and odd trinkets hang from the street lamps. I've been inspired to make some of my own when I get back home. Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera with me on our hike so I don't have any pictures to share, which I regret. If you are in Burien, I would definitely try to take the time to hike the forest in Seahurst.

A very scenic beach on Puget Sound. There is a walking path along the beach and of course you can walk forever on the beach. A nice view of tbe Olympias and Vashon Island. At sunset, parkin the upper lotand walk as there is limited parking at thebeach.

A great place to walk your dog or just enjoy the scenery. A bit overcast the day we were there, but we could see the Olympic Mountains, Vashon Island, and of course Puget Sound. There must be around a mile of waterfront to explore. You can walk on the beach, or there are paved walkways that parallel the beach. Worth visiting.

I've wanted to come here for a couple of years now, ever since starting to go to a dentist just up the hill. Today I finally made it. We're dog sitting for friends, and wanted to take him to a beach for a good long walk. The beach is a mix of rock and sand, has beautiful views toward Vashon Island and the Fauntleroy ferries, with the Olympic mountains in the background. The beach was a nice walk, plus we scrambled over the breakwaters to explore the beach to the north. Will definitely come back here, with or without a dog!

I love going to Seahurst Park. I can take my dog and walk for quite awhile along the water, or go into the woods on trails. I can watch the sunset over the Olympics, or watch a blue heron standing on 1 foot waiting for dinner to swim by. It is a delightful place, often crowded on weekends, but early morning and weekdays are totally blissful.

Seahurst Park is a hidden gem. It's a great place to take the kiddos for some exploration of rocks, seaweed and shells or to play in the sand. There is a playground area on the far north end too and ferries can be seen in the distance. Even on a rare warm and sunny day there is peace and quiet and plenty of parking. Take your grill and stay the day or stop in for just a short visit!

Seahurst park is a beautiful place. The beach is nice and there are some nice trails to walk along. I've been going there for years and it never disappoints.
