This is a great park to bring friends or family or just yourself. It's a great place to walk as the sidewalk or path is very long. Many amenities here, such as restrooms, tennis court, volleyball court, picnic tables, playground, and a beautiful view of the Columbia river.A great place to relax or exercise or have a picnic.

Beautiful park on the river. Lots of picnic shelters, beautifully maintained landscape and new playground structures.

What a refreshing stop if you're traveling I-5 in SW Washington State. Its available any time of year with covered picnic areas and paved walkways plus playground for kids to burn off some of that excess energy that drives parents nuts on car trips. Lots of grassy areas to play in as well. In addition there is a tennis court and a volleyball court and of course restrooms. No entry fee and lots of free parking. The park is operated by the Port of Kalama It is an easy walk just a little north of the park to the Port's Marina. The park itself is anchored on the north end by three large totem poles, one of which is reputed to be the tallest totem in the USA. On the south end there is public access to sandy beaches right on the Columbia and in the Spring bank fishermen flock here for a chance at tasty Spring Chinook. Large ocean going ships ply the waters of the Columbia offering something different to view if you don't live in a coastal area. A nice feature is the paved path at the river's edge that runs for about .6 mile and is an easy and scenic way to get some exercise if you've been sitting in the car for hours and want to stretch your legs. All in all it is a great resource for the small city of Kalama and for travelers along I-5. When we have visitors from out of the area we make it a point to take them to the park to experience the river, the ships, the walkway and sometimes a picnic.
